Well, after reading the threads today, I can see the usual provocateur is home alone again. I’m non the wiser as to the direction of RR, but at least I’ve remembered that a need a new dust bag for the vacuum. (Friends often tell me that I’m carp with subtlety – how did I do ?)

I think you are referring to BurnieBalingo,,, while I never spoke directly with him, he was a very modest, grounded ,down to earth - salt of the earth kind of chap - who only revealed his hand because it was so life changing and it was a natural conversation occurring when RR rocketed

He apologised and expressed that he didn’t want to come across as crass - only that he couldn’t contain his disbelief any more. It was a pleasant story - and met with warm congratulations from all. The fact that his user name was Balingo - a cheap car make - added to the warmness of the situation.

I remember it well – since I now have a new phrase – ‘I wanna do a Berni barlingo with this one’

LOL no , unfortunately I've better things to do with my day than conduct an impact assessment , lets hope the plant gets built and any legit environmental issues get resolved -with all of them LOL.

@notzero, I don't know mate - I'm not a spokesperson for everyone :) All I said @9:39 and keep trying to hammer home to closed ears - (not you) is that every installation is going to attract environmental concerns and that they shouldn’t all be dismissed off hand by people screaming 'woke , woke , lettie'

The issue can be disruption. Nesting birds get twitchy about heavy machinery, and losing a breeding cycle (or more) can have a massive affect on the population. Other than that - there are many other considerations- to many to list here

@retirement, I don’t know the area and if what you say is true , then that might act as a mitigating fact for the SMR construction.

So they magically appear over night. Do they have cooling lakes ? do they release to the environment . Does their construction cause noise , vibration and disruption. will they affect the local envinroment ?
