If the company did not hold Samsung to account, they would have stolen/infringed the 2D technology also. The market for these materials will dwarf QLED/QD-OLED. I'm sure the settlement includes an acknowledgement of and repsect for Nanoco's IP portfolio, and a promise not to infringe.

If Samsung want to utilize the 2d nanomaterials, they will have to now pay for it. As will others.

Nanoco's materials will eventually end up in every high-tech device you can think of.

Validating the IP was about more just QLED/QD-OLED. It was and is about the future of next generation electronics. Sasung fought tooth and nail to invalidate the technology. They failed.

Nanoco's tech enables the production of solution-processable, high-quality, uniform nanosheets and other 2d nanoparticles. The current method involves growing the sheets on-chip. It is slow, cumbersome and difficult to scale while maintaing uniformity and eliminating defects. It is also extremely difficult to form Van der Waals heterostructures using this method and not applicable to all potentially relevant materials. Solution preocessing means the shhets can be simply printed onto the device.

It is the not-too-distant future.

Forthcoming next-generation field effect transistors (GAAFETs) will utilize 'nanosheets'. Perhaps not 2d material sheets at first, but there is certainly scope to do so. Indeed 2d nanomaterials can also be employed in other components of the GAAFETs. The effect will be to siginificantly enhance semiconductor chip peformance and power efficiency. AI anyone?

Hammi, sincerely, time and again I have expressed my disappointment with regard to the perceived litigation machinations. However, I have yet to see sufficient evidence, beyond the circumstantial, to support your claims and allegations of wrongdoing by the board of directors. If you have it, sue them already. You can certainly afford it. Alas, you don't and you won't.

As for the underwhelming settlement, I am willing to give the company more time in order to establish the organic business, before passing ultimate judgement on the apparent conclusion of the litigation. It just might have been the right decision.
