With multiple approvals now in various jurisdictions and very successful lab/academic results including in the US, I can only think it's the FDA's thorough but laborious process holding it up now. No problem with the FDA, but afaik it has always been the case that they only like their own results and always seem to take their own time (same has been seen with vaccines during pandemic, my impression has been that US are often last to approve)
