Brilliant!! I will Hold you to that !!! I think our frustration, mine particularly can spill over with this share. The highs are great, but the lows are a kick and sometimes there seem to be more lows than highs with this sp. fingers crossed it moves somewhere north in the next few days!!!

Fair play old chap.. part of me has stopped trying to guess, I really thought it was gonna have a stellar start to the week to match the ftse.. however it did it’s usual and by 11am had lost its 1.5% gain and went negative.

I hope we will see some trajectory north by midweek ... a retrace to 3.30 would be very very disappointing

And KCCO - I am no expert !! Have never professed to be either, just a normal bloke who likes a dabble on the market, does my research and like to share and listen to views on here

I get it, but this share never holds its day highs, it’s notorious for having a 10-20p swing.

Max age it’s not 2 weeks - it’s 7 trading days... if this goes into results sub £3.50 I will admit defeat and gracefully exit the building

I reckon Morgan Stanley probably think the same as thst have now upped their holding to 9%

For all the talk of topshop and fundamentals the other angle is what is the short term impact ?

There are plenty of trading strategies, day trading, short medium long shorting etc etc. Sometimes there is a misplaced sense of loyalty or affront if an individual falls into any of these categories that don’t meet a trend of others

I for one dont like shorting, plenty of people on here have told me otherwise and that’s down to personal opinion.

My Point is that i am not a ‘long term holder’ like people power for example. Makes me no better or worse of a trader just a different strategy

Therefore going back to the point - what is the impact in the short term on the sp of

acquiring it
Not acquiring it

And we as Pi’s will not determine the answer, the city will and for all the opinion pieces on this board and talk in the media no real answer has been put forward

Dan I think the top shop acquisition Could be a SP gamechanger... Ms keep building their holding, that’s not lost on me, I reckon they know far more than we do! For the sake of a few days it seems definitely worth holding, the reward would seem to outweigh the risk of the sp decreasing

I would say anything circa £3.80 - £4.10 into results would be great...

Factoring in the usual sell off around results with some consolidation if it holds 4-4.20 then the icing on the cake could be topshop, which I think could quite easily add 10-15% which would take it past £4.50

If anyone interprets that as ramping or being too excitable then please shout up ??

@ Dan.. I somewhat agree but like to throw both sides of the coin out there for a reasoned debate.

The sales will be in line with expectation give or take 10% Either way. There was no RNS to update the market either way so we can pretty much guarantee that is where we sit.

Therefore for all the talk of out of this world sales etc, that’s unfounded nonsense. However for those that have been around this share long enough, sales were never the problem - they didn’t Expediate the SP north. Bad press and doubts Around fundamental operations took 50% of the sp.

For those wishing or wanting to sell before results logic would actually dictate that is the best course of action given that the sp went from £4.0 on the 30th sep results down to £3.20 in fairly quick succession with one drop so severe it caused trading to be suspended.

But and it’s a big but DYOR.. we are in a very very different place With These results -

L2 institutions buying back in stateside MS etc
Parliamentary review out the way - general consensus was very good outcome
Factory confirmed or school of excellence
Press witch hunt all but done
Top shop potentially 4 days later with RNs

I would therefore say on balance there is more to hold for than to sell in this instance only my humble opinion

@slipperz my thoughts exactly... and to be fair I was in that camp or at least half my holding was. But now it presents a very very tricky predicament, it may just keep going and if the acquisition comes off that is a clear catalyst to £4.50+ on the back of some great results (tempered with the environment we are in)

Ffs some people on this board need to chill out.. it’s had a stonking week and the city boys aren’t even back until Monday.

Even it drops back to £3.40 tomorrow, it leaves 8 trading days to climb 20% which would take it to £4.08 + that seems entirely feasible given that back in September it rose by £0.50p in 2 days
