That said, Portuguese Gov about to auction off a number of potential lithium areas. These are virgin lands unlike MdB which has an existing licence that SAV is looking to extend and increase. Gov retained the national interest for the others but decided to leave MdB to the mercy of the local municipality agreement. The EIA has been submitted and any replies to their further queries should be satisfied over the next week or so. At this point the clock starts ticking and the EIA becomes a public document, and the discussions with the local community starts in earnest.

Presumably you will have seen the recent corporate video of the sunlit uplands, and last week the EU confirmed the importance of Li and the availability of EU funds for locally agreed projects. We still have yet to hear Portugals plans for heir post CV19 industrial renewal (late but likely to be positive) so there is good cause to think that there is a lot of establishment support.

However, it is still to be based on the boxes that the stubby pencils actually cross and the anti lithium lobby certainly has its voice across Portugal. It might be that the loudest of voices may be external. I am certain that he company will be looking to cover as many queries and issues as possible, and the coming community discussions will make it hard to reject for all bar comiitted diehards.

Don't remember the process of the transfer of ownership being overly long winded. EUs bit on raw materials today confirms what they want and that they are prepared to channel the wider community's financial resource (be it debt or otherwise) towards any local communities that agree with them and vote for Christmas. It will help back up the Portuguese Govs support for their industrial renewal plans though it will still boil down to the right boxes being ticked in the Municipality. I understand that APA should be in a position to make the EIA public mid month and start the process, so something to look forward to.

Might be a bit starry-eyed, but they will be facing the same issues that we did, the project is the basically unchanged. They are effectively doing what we would have had to do had it remained as part of SAV. I for one am quite relieved that it is no longer a festering sore and a constant focus of questioning when the lack of progress has been within the local loop. One of these days it may come good, hopefully sooner than later, but you can't carry baggage indefinitely and certainly not if you never actually get hold of the key.

Talking of which...Moz and Portugal may be better bits of baggage, but we could do with a big bunch of keys here as well.

It's the 27th today and the Portuguese report into post Covid recovery plan is due by the end of the month. Hopefully this will lead into APA confirming the start of the next stage and public consultations.

CM, thanks for that. I note that in the blurb it says they will be looking to discuss the plans with the community and relevant groups 'very soon' which presumably will be just as soon as APA has done its preliminaries and we are moving into the 80 day consultation period.

Due or imminent? Good, bad or indifferent, there is plenty of news that is due but as we know from experience, imminent is sometimes an alien concept. One thing that will be of interest is the progression of the EIA as the proscribed timeline of the APA is met. First part to confirm the start of the next part (80 day review and consultation period) should be through reasonably soon, especially if you hey don't ask for further info ( and they have claimed the EIA to be a fully comp document). The presentations thereafter to the local community, hopefully with support coming in from other agencies, will throw up some comment and newsworthy items.

Othe due items could of course just land unexpectedly eg a year ago when magically, confirmation of advance notices of MLs landed, although the cynic in me always links the news to the equally surprising (or not) fundraise. Groundhog Day is in February I think, but timings are all over the place in 2020.

If there was no further significant news then who knows. As there is, it may come as a surprise that the answer still remains the same.

It's the practical example of the loan finance that is the interesting part - 50% of the initial phase.
If that was the case, coupled with off an offtake agreement, then it would limit any dilution.

See that Umicore just had help from the EU/EIB towards battery plant in Poland.

These plants will need to be fed. Imports or Eu produced? Attention will shortly be directed towards raw material production and processing.

CM MdB is in an world agricultural heritage area and is pretty close to the village so perhaps the local difficulties are not just in Spain. The anti lobby will no doubt shine a spotlight on thi s to make as much of it as possible.

CM hi. Must say that I find it a little surprising that we have had no comms on Moz since the licence was issued. No doubt Portugal will have been taking up most of the time and along with Covid, any delay may suit both books. The only thing was that they did say that following the licences, they would be discussing the way forward for the project. As for the sands of time, one must get easily think that there has been enough for an ostrich egg to be hard boiled and cold by now.

No point in asking. The answer is " we don't give timelines". Anyway, they need to get over the earlier hurdle ie the PFS before the last one. The increased % holdings and valuation basis of the whole project rather than the current cost plus should kick a value as the project starts to shape up. The PFS and DFS do cost money and currently, there are plenty of calls on that.
