if you want quick returns invest in other sectors

stage payments are fine ... but of no value if you don't get to them ....

rather better to do a deal which lowers the risk of failure ... which implies a higher up front price tag ...

all so the collaborator has serious skin in the game ... they may have invested for a year or more in that science

what they are doing is "understanding" before buying into the IP ... it de-risks for them, if the capital cost of the IP is moved further down the development stage , it also means they have access to 12 PHD's Scancells Brain Team ....
The real competition comes later in the cycle and we have seen a lot more deals around phase 1/2 than we see pre-clinical indeed the majority of pre-clinical investment never gets to a defined product .

so the value to scancell is others are taking on that development work at no cost to us

the value to the collaborator they are doing that development work with no upfront cost .. but have access to "the inventor"

I would not dismiss this model it gives the highest return for shareholders based on the max development point before the serious money is poured in ... "The Trials"

so that the "asset" has been fully appreciated and a far better understanding of value attributed ...

and we all know ... that is "pre-clinical efficacy ..

which gives us Market Size, Potential, etc etc
