Briggsy - nothing wrong with a bit of Pom Pom shaking in celebration of the huge rise in SP - disgruntled ex-shareholder cohort who missed the transformation still sucking on lemons - hope it’s helping John!

GarryGraham - I’m happy to let the readers decide whether my argument is invalid and ridiculous - in fact I believe a class of Year 6 would be able to comprehend that $12.5 million means a huge amount to a company like CEG with a market capitalisation, at the time, that barely exceeded that banked payment from Chevron.

I completely agree that it’s relatively small change for Chevron but I’m totally at a loss to understand how that has any bearing on the argument!

As I’m having to unduly labour such an obvious point I don’t want to be misunderstood so I’m going to say that Chevron are probably the best PARTNER in the world for CEG due to the generosity of the deal, leaving CEG with 40% interest and likely funding all of the seismic plus the advantageous drilling terms, if it gets that far.

It’s also likely that Chevron’s deep pockets were influential in getting the deal done with Uruguayan Government - if they wouldn’t let Chevron drill there wouldn’t be much hope for the others waiting in the wings !

BTW I agree this share is a punt - it’s an AIM tiddler in Oil Exploration and Production - pretty much goes without saying - I’ve never said otherwise- just post up any evidence you have to the contrary!

GarryGraham - this “ punt ” is a somewhat safer gamble than even most each-way bets on a horse race as Chevron have already paid out $12.5 million irrespective of whether the drill takes place!

GarryGraham - you told this chat board Tuesday you hadn’t sold your stock - I don’t claim trading expertise further than watching “Trading Places ”, but has not market finessing occurred to you if you’re that confident it’ll be 6-7p by March?

Farcical posting on this board over the weekend. Rampers are desperate to make the case by scratching around for articles under the guise of “research” and create FOM. I’m sure many had hoped that the “transformational” news would have allowed them to make a quick buck by now but you’ve got to ask yourself why with all this amazing prospect does the SP languish and the market just not buy it.

GarryGraham - I’ve reviewed today’s posts and I have to say how flattered I was to read your post of 10:06! I have cut n pasted it to my CV file as one never knows what the future holds!

I am, however, a little perturbed that you see my posting as “ continual promotion of the company ” . It’s relatively rare that I initiate a line of promotion, most of the time I’m responding to posts from other people who believe they can troll this company.

As I’ve said before trolling is an art form. DONE WELL it can be very impactful but good trolls make their case cogently, citing facts. The trolls here, so far, seem to struggle with facts, mostly relying on opinion, which provides an opportunity for me to put up the alternative, fact laden response.

I do concede that I often comment on CEG announcements and topical material from industry observers, sometimes there’s a provocative element to my posts but in my defence I would argue and I’m sure you’ll agree, a chat board should be entertaining as well as informative!

Congratulations Garry on making money on your 2024 purchases of CEG shares, at current SP levels, even without a drop of oil being found! You will recall I detailed such a potential scenario in a reply to one of your posts relatively recently.

Presumably, as a claimed highly motivated shareholder you’re fully supportive of Eytan’s latest PR campaign ( if not fully, hopefully at least 40% supportive recently! ). Eytan does read these boards so I’m sure your blessing, on here, would be much appreciated!

Briggsy - I know how you closely follow Malcy - I think his comment on Eytan’s letter might be to you - obviously run it past your financial adviser first - if you’re going to take the risk accept the consequences - all this whinging and whining just smacks of being a bad loser!

GarryGraham ( aka Timid Troll! ) - as a claimed shareholder I’m beginning to despair regarding your woeful memory - you and I have been through this before, in detail, I’ve cited my evidence for the historic ( relatively recent ) history of the sale of the Non - Producing asset to PRD.

The recent settlement of the South West Peninsula field on a break even basis clearly cut me to the quick, having regard to my moniker, but I got over it. That field was non productive and involved a potentially expensive legal dispute so it was a good call to resolve it in that way. The “ core ” fields are producing and have good potential for modern development, CEG have kept spending down because of the historical absence of funds, prior to the transformational Chevron payment.

As a vocal shareholder I suggest you take a little time to study the Trinidad assets before opining on them in the manner I expect from the disgruntled ex-shareholding cohort!

Briggsy - it’s taken me a while to work out how you came to buy shares here - as you seem very risk averse perhaps you thought CEG was a Building Society like C&G !

I think we can all agree Eytan told us he expected the farm out of OFF -1 to be contracted by the end of 2023.

As the end of the year approached he told us it wouldn’t happen but that there had been very strong interest and the final deal would be concluded in 2024.

The trolls couldn’t contain their excitement at this news posting multiple times daily that readers here shouldn’t believe Eytan, egging each other on with hyperbole culminating in the famous line from John Briggs “ Why on earth “!

Then came the actual announcement of the transformative farm out with ( my words - probably the best partner in the world! ) .

Is this the sort of stated objective/ strategy and timeline scenario you find so troubling about CEG ? Clearly if it triggered the “ Why on earth ” tosh it must be close to the top of your list!

My response is that the delay was unsettling and some less committed shareholders sold out in the meantime - was it worth the wait for shareholders - without a doubt - a truly magnificent deal with Chevron!

John this is an Oil Exploration and Production AIM share which most would acknowledge to be ultra high risk - it’s an exciting ride and only suitable for certain types of investor - that clearly isn’t you - have you thought about changing your financial adviser - it seems like there was a misunderstanding about your risk appetite when agreeing to buy this share which caused you so much grief/ confusion/ anger!

Briggsy - if it’s that easy why do you need me to do it for you!

BTW I’ve never claimed to offer balanced content - it’s a chat board, but I do like to post lots of facts, something that current trolls don’t consider a priority.

GarryGraham - weren’t all the majors offered OFF- 1 beforehand and were not interested!

BP actually licensed the OFF- 3 area ‘ beforehand ’ but withdrew largely because of a massive change of Company strategy regarding exploration for fossil fuels. CEG are now reworking the data.

You’re obviously entitled to your opinion, that OFF- 3 is a no - hoper but clearly the BOD believes it’s worth the relatively modest speculative capital requirement to investigate more thoroughly.

Got to say it was less than a year ago this chat board was being trolled multiple times daily by those who doubted Eytan would get the OFF - 1 farm - out, with mounting hyperbole, culminating in the famous line from JohnBriggs :-

I wonder if he thought long and hard about going full Carlsberg - probably the best partner in the world!
