I didn't have anything that was at profit but i sold some shares at a 15% loss to buy these and at the current sell price i have already lost 14% on these today. I am a top investor LOL But hey it is only one day, upbeat reports from this company and a large amount of buys at end of play are the ray of sunshine. One thing that puzzles me, if anyone can help out with a reason, there was a mention of this share being a takeover target ... why did the shares bomb ? Was it just the sheer weigh of profits some are banking at the moment ? Any opinions welcome

had a feeling that i could get a better price end of today or early next week with the next round of profit takers like the last leap in price. Good job i see this as a mid-term share and am not planning to sell anytime soon.

I bought some of these this morning. I was initially worried about the amount it has raised and the worry of a big drop due to profit takers. It has dropped a little on the price i paid already but it looks like a really good midterm share. The recent reports from this company have been very upbeat, and considering what this share has come down from. i feel it is a company with potential at these prices. As always do your own research.

I am thinking about putting a bit in this one but the huge rises lately put me off .. surely it can't keep on rocketing up without a lot of people taking thier huge profits recently ?

Anyone know what has happened to this one .. been dropping steadily for over a year. Huge drops today but i can find NO news for 2006 even on it's own website !

So a 300% increase in a month isn't enough of " turning the corner " for you ? LOL

There has been one on the horizon for over a month now. This third licence should prove very lucrative for CHP but it is taking a long time for the announcement. I e-mailed Marton Groak and he said CHP are expecting a decision any day now but the latest it should be is the 15th March. Blue .. don't take this the wrong way but are you even cut out even just to dabble in the stock market ? I copy and pasted a segment of an news posting explaing what the third licence they are going for is all about. I can't explain it anymore than i already have done .. so i don't understand why you are still asking what it is about ?

After the last few days it is SO nice to see all the green BUYS. Might be a few more days like this when the licence is announced.

They already have licences in Columbia ... even without the third licence CHP is a good share .. but with the third one it is a whole different ball game. This block lies in the well-established Llanos Basin to the east of Bogota. The objective here is to find a "look-alike" structure to the 10 million barrel Valdivia oilfield which lies immediately to the south and is currently producing over 3,000 barrels a day. The 2006 work programme will involve the re-interpretation of existing seismic to high grade areas in which to shoot 100 km of new infill seismic to define possible Valdivia look-alikes. Chaco is keen to add to its holdings in Colombia, where it has an application outstanding for the Primavera Block in the Llanos Basin. I feel when starting off in dabbling in the stock market penny stocks are not the place to start. Pick a more established company that is down on it's luck but should pick up. For example .. Marks & Spencer has had a few dips in the last 5 years but always picked up. But now you have CHP shares, my advice, and it is only my advice is to hold not buy more. Use sites like www.oilbarrel.com, and a few others mentioned on previous posts, to do research on this share. There will be an announcement on or before the 15th March saying whether or not CHP has got it's third licence. The 15th March is the latest and they are expecting news soon. I feel the best way to make money from this share is to look at is as a mid to long term share. But with all shares like this there is a risk so hold what you have so far and wait for news from CHP. All my holdings are dropping recently and i bought in late for the mid - long term so i have no intention of selling. I just try to think of when, hopefully, the shares i have will be more. Try to look at it that the drops are only here to make the rises seem even better. Chin up !!!

Yesterday there were two lots of 2 x half a million shares ... the 2 x half a million shares were within seconds of each other as a buy and then a little later as a buy ... having lost about 1% of thier value in that transaction. Again today a 2 x half a million buy appears ... will there be the same sort of sell later ? Does anyone feel this share is being toyed with and being kept low for a reason ? I know about the fundraising issue and the chinese takeover issue holding down the share but something fishy is going on.

Following is the e-mail i recieved from M Groak. I made my own decision from it now you make yours :- Thank you for your e-mail. The current position is that we are awaiting formal notification on the outcome of our third application. It is currently the end of the summer vacation in Colombia and we understand a key individual who signs off the official document has been away. As soon as we have formal notification, we shall be making an announcement. In terms of the timetable, the National Hydrocarbons Agency (ANH) has technically up to the 15th March to issue the formal notification, but we have been advised that we should know "very shortly", which we interpret as meaning in the next day or two. You think the huge potential of the columbia licence is already built into this share ? Hmmm only time will tell i guess, i feel you are wrong, but that is the risk i have taken. Cynic .. can't take profits where there are none ... can you ?

Thanks for your post Cynic. Even though my confidence has been knocked a bit today i STILL believe this share is undervalued, i still believe the licence will be granted and i still believe it is a VERY good mid - long term share. Maybe i will be proved wrong ... i sure hope i won't be.

Seems a lot of the oil shares took a bashing today, some bigger than others, and i can't see why. Anybody have any ideas ??
