The Minister of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Agio Pereira, met today, October 22, 2024, with the United States Ambassador to Timor-Leste, Donna Ann Welton, in the first formal meeting between the two since the presentation of the diplomat's credentials to the President of the Republic, José Ramos-Horta, in July of this year. During the meeting, opportunities for cooperation were discussed, with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations and promoting sustainable development in Timor-Leste.
