Houthis target Saudi Arabia's energy infrastructure
Yemeni Houthis struck energy and water distillation facilities with missiles and UAVs in the city of Jizan, Saudi Arabia. In the attack on the city of Jeddah, a fire broke out in an oil tank.
Yemeni Houthis attacked the water treatment plant of the oil company Aramco and the Zahran Power Plant in the city of Jizan, Saudi Arabia.
According to the information provided by the Ministry of Energy of Saudi Arabia, the oil products distribution terminal and a natural gas facility in the south of the city of Jizan were hit in the drone attack. The Houthis also targeted the Yasref refinery in Yanbu port. Production at the Yasref refinery was temporarily reduced.
In the attack on the city of Jeddah, a fire broke out in an oil tank. The fire was contained before it spread to other tanks.
“TARGETED IN RIYADH”
Making a statement regarding the attacks, the military spokesman of the Houthis, Yahya Sarea, stated that they launched ballistic and winged missiles as well as UAVs. He stated that Riyadh was also targeted in the attacks.
WILL NOT AFFECT OIL SUPPLY
Aramco CEO Amin Nasser emphasized that the attacks will not affect the supply of oil and petroleum products to their customers.
SAUDI ARABIA REQUESTS US SUPPORT
Emphasizing that the attacks of the Houthis against the energy infrastructure of the country may cause disruption in the global oil supply, Saudi Arabia asked the USA for support in preventing the attacks.
