And then we have geothermal and solar and promises anew. "As well as standalone geothermal projects, we are currently investigating the viability of hybrid energy sites centred around subsurface gas and/or hydrogen storage. These projects are envisaged to test the Company's hydrogen battery concept to provide peak-shaver power generation and green hydrogen generation from geothermal and other renewable sources. Two new prime coastal sites have been identified and are under active investigation."
Take your pick.
Notice how the term "These assets also have the potential to become self-funding relatively quickly." pops up. Remember Turkey? We're still waiting.
What happened to "the future's bright the future's orange"?
RE: MPs investigate how UK can cut reliance on oil and gas1 Apr 2022 11:46
No doubt SS will be closely looking at this for his next vision of the future.
"Should Government policies on onshore energy generation or exploration be revised in light of the energy security situation? Given the current and potential speed of deployment, what low-carbon energy sources are most likely to secure supplies of affordable and sustainable energy rapidly?"
MPs investigate how UK can cut reliance on oil and gas1 Apr 2022 11:30
A group of MPs has launched an inquiry into how the UK can phase out fossil fuel use more quickly.
The investigation by the Environmental Audit Committee (EAC) comes as oil and gas prices surge and the government prepares to publish its energy security strategy.
The committee said the inquiry would also look into securing energy supplies.
In a call for evidence, the committee said it wanted to examine the transitional role of oil and gas exploration and development on the UK continental shelf.
It would also look at how the UK can phase out fossil fuel use and subsidies, following commitments at the COP26 climate talks to limit temperature rise to 1.5C.
So much for those who were saying "they think it's all over it is now". Does that mean SS is going to put yet another hold on doing anything at HH? Will he use it as an excuse to save money? Answers on a stamp please.
"Our technical team is driving the “proof of concept” for the new and potentially significant Weald Kimmeridge limestone naturally-fractured oil play, demonstrated by the successful Horse Hill-1 exploration well."
"Today’s information event has been designed to give you the facts about ourselves and counter-act the fiction being circulated by well-known and ill-informed scaremongers. In order to immediately address the most significant misconception it should be made clear: UKOG is NOT a FRACKING company. We do not have the desire to frack and we will not seek permission to frack." "We are not fracking. We do not want to and do not need to because the rock formations we are targeting are naturally fractured by Mother Nature and can flow oil & gas sufficiently well on their own."
Why do some on here think it will be good for UKOG when they are obviously against it? Could it be they are giving false hope? I doubt if it will ever happen.
Was 140 bopd. This was the first set of accounts from a full year of "production". Actual daily production was just under 87 bopd. They couldn't even meet the 29$ Operating costs (£/bbl). No wonder they didn't get a bonus. No wonder the LTL's are getting upset. No doubt the greenies/NIMBIES/naysayers will get the blame. Anyone but the disciples of God will get the blame.
Including "UKOG's planning application to the Isle of Wight Council for the appraisal drilling and flow testing of the Arreton oil discovery was refused post period. Having taken time to consider, the Company has decided not to appeal this decision." in the Annual Report was a clever way of avoiding the cost of an RNS. Any cash left in the kitty has already been earmarked for Basur, Loxley and general working capital according to the RNS's.
Phil C March 26, 2022 at 7:50 am Congratulations to everyone in the Isle of Wight who successfully opposed and objected to UKOG#s clearly inept and unscientific attempt to force through their planned invasion of the Isle of Wight and to exploit what little oil and gas exists there. What little oil and gas the UKOG# plans would not benefit anyone on the island or elsewhere in Britain. What little would have been extracted would have been sold off for great profit on the world market only. Not produced to ease energy poverty of anyone anywhere.
Also, congratulations to Don’t Drill the Wight for their determined composure and logical substantiated consistency to protect the Isle of Wight from enforced industrialisation of their homes and villages and towns.
Well done, everyone who objected to UKOG#s attempts, regardless of location. The unsuccessful attempt by UKOG# is now a precedent in factual, scientific and legal terms to be of use for any future attempts.
