Good morning all,
I was looking through what I thought was this EUA share chat this morning and could not understand all the new names, somehow I had inadvertently landed on the BOO share chat?
I soon got out of there when I realised!
I posted this yesterday and MontyBoyz has still not replied?
"Old Monteyboyz has still not come back and posted what Rowkas joking share price was, I wonder why :-)"
I'm still waiting MontyBoys, if you are Rowka reincarnated?
There is no one down for today ...
Good luck everyone,
Cheers.
Good morning one and all,
Happy Fathers Day to all the fathers out there, and I hope you all get to be spoilt rotten ..... Or the BANK of Mum & Dad might just have a rethink and donate to a charity instead, gives you a bargaining chip :-)
We are just off round to Geoff & Brenda for a Father's Day meal, which will be nice.
IF, and that is a BIG IF, old MontyBoyz is Rowka reincarnated?
Will he remember the joking share price he stated, before his departure in a huff!
If he gives the right answer, I might just believe him!
Have a great day everyone,
Cheers.
Good morning all,
It's Thursday, that favoured day that EUA has released RNSs in the past,
No way, through a fault of my own making, would I come onto this chat board and talk down this stock, that if I had made a different decision at the time, would have been a very different outcome for me!
It was MY decision to continue to hold, as the company was up for sale imminently!
Unfortunately, it has taken longer to sell than I personally thought, again, MY problem!
The only thing that was not my fault, was Putin invading Ukraine.....
That has slowed things up ......
The company has brought in someone who they hope will speed things up,
The fact I now hold fewer shares is also, MY fault, through rainbow chasing other stocks, after the reality of what I, personally, had miscalculated on in the past with times scales,
I blame NO one but myself for my current situation, but Putin has certainly thrown a spanner in the works and, presumably, slowed the progress of the sale?
The company still has what the world needs, and lot's of it!
I'm off out for the Thursday breakfast meet, the scooter puncture is now fixed, and as it is going to be a swelter today will be my mode of transport, and I save on parking costs :-)
Good luck everyone for some news soon,
Cheers.
I have just got back from a lovely day out on the mobility scooter, over 25 miles covered, with plenty of stops for food and drink along the way, to find a great big roofing tack in the rear tyre and it slowly going down!
Down at the Shoebury end of the promenade, some workmen were re-roofing a beach hut, and I expect that is where I picked up this roofing tack!
The rear wheel is 4” wide x 17” diameter and the scooter weighs about 250kg, so I will have to get the trolley jack out to get the wheel off!
The front wheel is only just smaller at 4" wide x 16" diameter!
Here is a video about it - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NkQbzvM5uoA
I went for this one because I thought the larger wheels would smooth out the bumps a bit more and because it had such a powerful electric motor ...... a whole 1.7 BHP or 1300w ... still can't go above 4mph on pavement or 8mph on the road though,
Back to EUA, and I concur with WandGrabitt, we did not sell at 40p because the company was worth so much more, and then there was the talk of future dividends and talk of EUA 2.0....
Never mind, it's only money ........ sob, sob :-)
Right, I'm off into the garage to fix this blasted puncture,
Have a lovely evening everyone,
Catch you tomorrow,
Cheers.
Good morning Xerxes, and all,
As you say, the weather today down in the south is looking to be lovely with a high of 22'C and a clear sky, forecast to rise to 33'C this Friday!
We have no hopefuls down for today, but we do have one for next Monday the 17th,
We only have 15 more guesses to run their course, and they go all the way out as far as 2030, being put forward as sarcastic at the time, but NOW, not looking so outlandish!!
No point in looking back in time, we can only look forward from this point in time, and we are where we are now, thanks, to Putin!
I can feel a seafront cruise on the mobility scooter is on the cards, with a sandwich and cuppa at the end of the pier,
Good luck everyone for some news from the company very soon,
Have a lovely day everyone,
Cheers.
Good evening all,
Another, very sad, and, disappointing day, all around....
The only nice thing was the sun came out!
I just had to get out of the house today to think, and took the mobility scooter for a twenty-mile run from Leigh on sea to Shoeburyness, along the seafront, then back via Southchurch park to eat the sandwich that I got from the Southend M&S, also bought something nice to cook for dinner that Becky will appreciate, and hopefully earn me some brownie points, that I need in abundance, after devastating the value of her ISA! by advising her not to sell when she was up!
This is going to play on my mind and be a thorn for years to come, oh, why did I do something so silly!
I think on reflection I thought that the company selling, for whatever price, took the decision on when I would have to sell, out of my hands, and save me the job, unless the sale fell through, then I would be selling asap, but this Putin war was not something I ever envisaged and caught me totally off guard ....
Sorry to go on, I'm just trying to work it out in my head! so that is why I went for a long ride on the scooter....
Just ignore this post if you are not in the same boat as me?
Today's hopefuls were:-
----------
SaxonAxe - 10/06/22
NitroKev - 10/06/22
----------
Bad luck chaps, no RNS!
Do have a lovely evening and weekend everyone,
Catch you all on Monday,
Cheers.
So sorry Kammy,
I've only just got back home and just seen your very sad post, you did the right thing in telling us here the very sad news, we are a great friendly bunch here, and it will help you to get it off your chest as it will be hanging around you like a weight....
We are genuinely so sorry to hear this, and send our deepest sympathies and sincere condolences to you and your family at this very sad time...
Kindest regards
Ian
Good morning Les and all,
The news about Angie's tumours shrinking was fantastic and very heartwarming, it means a lot to your 'Keyboard Friends' to hear such great news that something good has happened when life throws at you a bombshell,
I also want to thank those here who have given me support over my outpouring yesterday, we are a caring bunch of investors with similar goals in life, thank you, my friends.
Today's hopefuls are:-
----------
SaxonAxe - 10/06/22 - Is it your Birthday perchance :-) same date as last year! Just curious matey :-)
NitroKev - 10/06/22
----------
Good luck everyone,
Cheers.
Evening CTC1988,
As stated, I did some rainbow chasing with other stocks which I should not have done, lost my money on some,
and underwater on others, it was in desperation, and not something I would normally have ever done, if feeling normal, I wasn't feeling well/normal, I was in a mad state of mind at the time, a desperate play to try and recover what I lost on paper...
Should have just had a drink and shut down the computer ....for a week....
If ever I get my money back it will be reinvested here if I haven't missed the boat :-)
Good luck to you,
Cheers.
Afternoon, MyQuest,
If that is a genuine question I have not seen a tall ginger-haired woman at the Westcliffe Hotel?
The waitress that is in the dining room is a laugh, she is only 20 something, has excellent interpersonal skills, and is a real charmer, but she has tattoos all over her hands which make them look dirty, a shame which I think she will regret in later life.... her choice of course?
Hi Nick,
I shouldn't have sold, just Putin and his war, along with the negative Bots just got to me for once, and when I looked back at what I could have had, I just felt physically sick, I should have taken some profit off the table, after all, that is what we are here for?
The company did no wrong, I thought I had envisaged all scenarios, a near WW3 was not one of them ....
Good luck Nick, and one day perhaps we can celebrate with a drink in a pub somewhere between Chelmsford and Southend ... :-)
All the best mate,
Cheers.
Thanks, Pompal and Steve, very kind of you, good luck.
Forgot to mention, it's amazing how slow one can go in a mobility scooter along the seafront when there is some lovely young lady sunbathing on the beach...... :-)
Afternoon all,
Breakfast was lovely, the Westcliff Hotel had hardly any guests staying as we were the only ones for breakfast, and the self-service breakfast buffet was closed, so it was waitress service at the table...
The lovely waitress made a mistake and brought out six full English breakfasts for just us five guests sitting at a six-seater table, she asked if we minded eating and sharing this extra free breakfast so she didn't have to take it back to the kitchen....
She got a big tip from us :-)
Sorry about my outpouring this morning, all through the suspension, and shorting attack that halved the share price I was not worried in the slightest, even when we had no NOMAD and posters said the company may go private I said they have had twenty years to go private, what makes you think they will now ....
I was proved right in the end....
I just should have played this differently and top sliced, perhaps giving me a free carry?
Anyway, Postman Porche asked:-
"Ian, didn’t you say you sold a chunk of your shares then bought back at a lot lower thus leaving you with more than you had previously?"
I did, .... BUT, since then with the continuing war, and health issues, playing on my mind, in a mad moment I flipped, when I should not have been making any sort of investment decisions and chased some rainbow stocks to lose even more money!
My current EUA holding is now only 250,000 shares :-(
Over the last five years, I have been diagnosed with Advanced Prostate cancer resulting in a prostatectomy at the Lister Hospital, and by the time they operated the fast-growing cancer had spread outside of the prostate and affected the surrounding tissue, they removed nine of my lymph nodes and I needed 32 weeks of radiotherapy and two years of hormone therapy, that is why I know all about the procedure for needing to hold a full bladder on the radiotherapy table and wished JimJam all the best!
My current PSA level is below 1, so a great result for me, as it was at about 20 months before my operation and no further tests were taken to see what the figure was just prior to my op...
I then had some nerve damage around the L5 area that just caused my leg to feel like it was on fire one minute and water was pouring down it the next, whilst all the time it had pins and needles and would not take my weight, so I now have a nice big red mobility scooter in the garage....
The leg thing has fixed itself now and the mobility scooter is not really needed, but still nice to cruise along the seafront, or go up the pier on a nice sunny day!
Then I had a detached retina in my left eye which was fixed by the NHS just leaving me to pay for a subsequent cataract op, as we were just starting lockdown in 2019,
Sorry for my outburst, just had a lot on my plate of late, my hospital appointment where they said they don't think I have any tumour in my jaw bone was on the 11th of May, and an upcoming MRI will give them the full answer...
Thanks, LittleRedRooster,
I just recently saw the error of my ways, Becky, like most wives was urging me to sell some time back, with statements like 'How much money do you need' ... 'You know what the stock market is like' .. I thought I knew better, and now I'm getting reminders in the ear :-)
I no longer have such a large EUA shareholding, I chased a few rainbows, which I had advised others not to do in the past, the tumor that was growing in my jaw and the wait for the NHS just played on my mind, only to be seen 9 months later for them to say 'I think we got it wrong and there is no tumor in your jaw' ...
Sorry for the outpour of pentup feelings this morning ....
I will now look on the bright side :-)
I have the Thursday breakfast to attend and even the sun is out shining,
Good luck everyone, just the negative bots even got to me!
Cheers.
Good morning all,
Putin and his personal war have a lot to answer for!
There WAS very little doubt the sale of EUA's assets would happen,
The company has even grown in size, during the time this protracted sale is taking!
Just NO ONE, expected it to take this long.....
We have endured a worldwide COVID pandemic...
And now, Putin has single-handedly turned the Western world against investing in Russia!
We have been assured by the company that the sale is still ongoing and to a BRICS country,
What WE don't know is .... IS this the fallback option, OR was that the plan all along to sell to a BRICS country?
It could well be the case that this is option number 2, option number 1, no longer interested?
We just don't know ...
WHAT we do know is the time this is NOW taking, and the growing number of Western sanctions are harming the way companies operating in Russia can easily continue and are causing such companies strong headwinds to navigate that were simply not there before....
We have been assured the company use NO sanctioned Russian banks, and is in no way sanctioned itself,
But it must be like navigating a minefield for them nowadays, which was simply not the case just six months ago...
We are where we are now, and nothing we can do about it!
Putin said he would not invade Ukraine,
The Ukrainians did not think he would invade them ...
Some relations that were at the time staying with the inlaws on holiday, who worked for the UK government in Ukraine, did not think Putin would invade .... That night they were on the phone with friends they had left back in Ukraine and left the next day utterly horrified by his actions!
In hindsight, selling at 40p, or at 35p, would have been the sensible option, but, we all know that would have been on the cheap, as the company was worth so much more, and was growing by the day!
If I had sold at 40p holding 4,200,000 shares I would have been made for life .... And, some charities would have been better off!
I did not, I wanted to see this sale through to the end!
The ONLY retrospective consolation I have is that -
Phil Taylor with his personal holding of 29.8 million shares
and
Anders_UK with his personal holding of 30 million shares
Also presumably thought that holding on to the stock was a better option than selling at 40p ....
Looking back I feel utterly sick at what I have let slip through my fingers, I'm not well off, just a retired Telecoms engineer!
I blame no one but myself for my stupidity, I don't blame the company or any posters for MY actions!
It was always MY decision, and mine alone, as to when to take profits!
I guess there are many in the same boat as me, thinking what if I had made a different decision!
So we are where we are, and can not change the past!
Now, where is that length of rope ..... Only joking, health overtakes wealth, but that's not too good :-)
Today's hopeful is:- LittleRedRooster - 09/06/22
Fantastic news Les,
Do give Angie our best wishes, this sounds like a great step forward in that her treatment plan to extend her time has worked its magic, and increased your time together, which is all you can hope and pray for at the end of the day, will be greatly extended.
That's the best news of the day, good for you Angie, and all the best in fighting the good fight against this awful disease....
Take care Les and all the best mate.
Good morning Ok, and all,
A turn-a-round in EUA's fortunes would be a fantastic morale booster for everyone currently invested,
Today's hopefuls and announcements are:-
----------
Aresenalles - 07/06/22 - Good luck Angie with the oncologist today,
Emmgray - 07/06/22
----------
Happy Birthday! to Emma Gray
Good luck everyone, it is very difficult to feel positive while a near WW3 takes place, but do remember that EUA has stated that they use no currently sanctioned Russian banks, and is not itself sanctioned in any way, and has just brought in to assist with the sale as 'GAZALA69' has just highlighted in his post:-
"The Directors are pleased that Artem Matyushok, a high profile M&A professional has agreed to join Eurasia. The experience of Artem and his knowledge of Eurasia can significantly speed up our Russian assets sale process"
Good luck all,
Cheers.
