Waiting to see how my portfolio opens in the US now, expecting a jump! Certainly will not be taking my money out to invest here. Oil will take months to stabilize, Isreal still bombing Iran, Iran disputing any conversation with Trump, far from over!

Sundezena I wouldn’t be celebrating yet and no one believes your topping up nonsense! The only reason this has gone up is because Trump has delayed his action on Iran.

There is a risk of it getting worse today if Trump follows suit on attacking Iranian oil infrastructure. Iran would retaliate in the Gulf. If he backs down, status quo is maintained for now. Not much of an investment opportunity.

IAG has the maximum upside if things calm down BUT that comes with the highest downside if they don’t! I think it could get to £3 now, given Israel is now saying it will be weeks..... I will only take a calculated risk then.

My recommendation is to stay put if you are in heavy losses and can do without the money, but it will take time.

Recovery depends entirely on the duration of the war with Iran; if it lasts more than two months, expect further significant declines. It is not a good time to top up at all right now. During Covid, it also took a long time, even when things were relatively back to normal. Oil prices are the big determinant, airlines increase prices to cover costs, and fewer people travel.
