RNS (plural)- a White Knuckle Ride15 Jan 2020 18:32
I don't believe we should be in an utter state of panic ( a little is fine!)
I don't believe the 13th RNS would have been issued without review of the 2 new non-execs. They would have made certain it was accurate. It says the company have:
-Enough cash at bank and from Dec and Jan oil liftings from Otakikpo, to pay for the site survey at OPL310 ($4m), [if needed]
-Other financing discussion to resurrect to replace the scam loan
-Lekoil will not be in default crashing the house down if they do not have $10m and evidence of the ability to fund 42.86% (either equals $28m or the percentage of $28m, I'm not clear but) lets assume $28m)
If Lekoil cannot fund this OPL310, Optimum AND Lekoil 'MAY' agree to sell Lekoil's 17.14% stake. There is wiggle room here for negotation, extra time to find funding but certainly time to find a buyer and not necessarily at fire sale prices.
Lekoil is not bankrupt and there are two new heavy weight non-execs on board to sort the mess out and rebuild credibility.
That is why I have not lost 70% of my investment by cashing in and have been averaging down.
Addtionally, the RNS clarifying Baron sold down from 4.64% to 2.8% yesterday gives additional explanation to the plummeting share price. It was not all down to MM mischief and panicking PI's. As we know, panic breeds panic and I'm sorry for all those who felt the need to crystallise losses. Or walk away.
Thanks Bridg for the shareholdings below. At 2.82p closing of today, Baron's investment would have been c. £700k, while at its peak (20p) it could have been worth £5m. No wonder they decided to salvage what they could and walk away.
Hopefully other II's will keep their seat at the table and be advising the Board what they need to do. Maybe they can pick up some tips from this BB! I reckon these II's could hold 43% of the oustanding shares.
Note also that our man, LA has 7.8% of the shares and will be hurting too (shame!). Hopefully, he won't stick around but if politics requires it, he is incentivised to perform. If he is not behind bars.
Just a few ramblings from my perspective. IMHO. Only been invested since 6th Jan... a white knuckle ride but I do not think all is lost. DYOR :)
