My guess is that Trump will propose eastern Ukraine being a neutral territory, perhaps ostensibly under the Ukrainian flag but in practice ruled by Russia (or vice versa), as well as being demilitarised. Ukraine would be barred from NATO but, in return, allowed (in principle) into the EU, on the proviso that no foreign troops allowed on its soil. Something along those lines. How long such an agreement would last is, of course, anyone's guess ! But peace is, surely, in everyone's interest.
