Sovereign's Conservation Farming Programme has yielded significant success, with 2024 results showing yields for participating farmers three times higher than conventional farming, even during an El Niño-driven drought. In 2025, yields were reported to be four times higher than typical, with some top performers achieving 10x higher yields.

The program expanded from 90 participants in 2024 to 350 in 2025, with a focus on involving at least 50% female farmers.

Sovereign Metals is using these techniques to restore land used in their pilot mining program. The rehabilitation process includes:

Backfilling the test pit to original ground level.

Soil amendment using lime and biochar to improve, and in some cases, increase the productivity of the soil compared to its pre-mining state.

Intercropping maize with other crops like giant bamboo to enhance soil health and provide sustainable income streams.

This approach aims to ensure that land is returned to local communities in a more productive state shortly after mining operations.

I like to be invested in this sort of company.

Koozer - that's typical PI investor behaviour. Sell at the low point. That's why so many PIs lose money. The narrative hasn't changed. All that's happened is the BOD have totally mismanaged this latest part of the journey. Whilst I've been critical of the BOD and the rampers, I still believe there is a reasonable chance of Bex proving to be of great value and that's why I'm leaving my money in (but not, necessarily adding to my investment).

Itsa - I'm shocked by your bold assumption that people will want to invest more and average down. I've lost a shed-load, on paper, here and have no intention of backing this shower even more. They've shown what useless bunch they are and that they have a basic lack of commercial understanding. On top of that, we have a CFO who sold his entire holding just a couple of weeks before this fiasco unfolded. Please educate me and tell me why I should invest more.

Itsa - For what reason do you believe that 'most will be averaging down'? I have (had!!) a reasonable stake here, but have lost faith in the quality of the management. I, for one, won't be trusting them with any more of my money and investing more. I wrote a few weeks ago (before this latest mess) that I'd written off my investment and if it comes good, it'll be a bonus. Interesting to know anyone's thoughts.

It amazes me that LTSHs (such as myself) have the appetite to invest more money here. Whilst I understand the rationale/appeal for averaging down, what gives anyone faith in the board's abilities any more? What they've done is not just incompetent, it's naive and on a scale to what Gerald Ratner did back in the day. I've been writing for many months that they don't appear to have the business acumen to deliver what we've been led to believe is possible and this week's decision has made that absolutely clear.

One of the problems, Sax, is that, like Santhi, I feel I’ve been mislead by Faron and whatever they say now is meaningless. We’ve had ‘value infection points’ dangled before us in the past and they’ve all come to nothing. I think this is one of those shares where one should expect nothing, but hope they pull it off. In the meantime I’m not going to check in much and just wait for the notifications of news I receive from the Faron website. Such a massive disappointment , this one.

I think many of us are just fed up with to be honest! I can’t be bothered to either comment or try and fathom what their strategy is. I’ve written off my investment, even though I’m up.

I'm just bored of the same old news flow from Faron. It's all well and good telling us that they're presenting at this that and the other conference etc., but what I need to know what's happening on the commercial front. It's all just boring, now. I've been thinking of divesting for some time now as I've seen my profit constantly eaten away over the past few months. It's just not fun and investing, for me, has to have that element to it.

That's AIM for you. I have a reasonable holding here, and am not concerned about the short term ups and downs. Nothing has has fundamentally changed and this is playing out as I expected and why I invested. The assays will come, more drilling will be carried out and I have faith that the team's understanding of the geology etc. is sound. What I'm not sure about is how and when the real value will be created.
