Scrub my previous post , a more correct calculation for the dilution is as follows :---- For every 900 share owned at 221p you get option to buy 400 at 153p --- That's 1300 shares at a cost to you of £2601 -00 ( 900 x 221p plus 400 x 153p ) ---- Divide £2601-00 by 1300 and you get £2.00 ----- This is the price the SP will drop to after the Rights Lapse ------ So take up the rights or sell the rights ---- GL----

I hear what you're saying but i don't think it works that way ----- The ex-rights price is only based on the calculation i previously posted --- The SP after the lapse date will be calculated by the amount of shares being issued at the discounted price of 153p added to the amount and price of the shares in general issue at close of play the day before the rights issue lapse and the Market Cap . ----- That's why if you haven't taken up the rights then your holding will be worth a lot less after that date !!---- sort of "forces " you to take up the rights , if you get my drift !!!!--- Somebody else please confirm all this as i've been known to be wrong before (lol) --- GL---- But that's my understanding of Rights Issues ----

Do you perhaps mean 2.84 ? ------ it last hit 1.84 back in late june 2013 !!!---- I'm assuming there won't be much movement between now and when the rights issue lapses as anyone buying now or not taking up the rights will be in a loss position after that date !!--- Rights issues can be very awkward to judge and if my maths are correct again , the diluted price after that date will drop the SP considerably , depending on the closing price prior to that date !!--- GLA ---just MVHO ------ here's hoping that the rights issue is well received / taken up !!!---

Morning sir -----i'm just curious as to which of the previous posts of anybody you see as incorrect ??? ---- If you bought a lot of shares at 535p and are happy to hold for 600+ and believe in the company fundamentals then why haven't you bought a lot more at the recent lows ----which would have averaged you down really well !!! ----? My posts on the SP levels have turned out to be pretty much spot on including the drop back this morning from that 485p level --- I'm more of a trader than a long term investor hence my in and out trades recently but as i posted i do still have a posn. a bit higher up than current levels !!-- Each to his/her way of making money out of Aviva but , as i say, just curious that's all ---nothing more ---not wishing to cause an arguement or anything !!!--- GL sir ---

Don't want to quibble about a couple of pence , really ---but i think the ex-rights price equated to 221p not 223.55p -- 4 for 9 rights issue at 153p gives 13 shares @ 153p equating to 9 shares @ 221p -----( somebody check my maths tho' , i have been wrong before (lol) ) But , as you say, looking good atm -- GL-----

Well, it hit that posted level of 478p and dropped back !!----- Closed my latest posn. for +20pts. -------still hold a posn. from a bit higher up but last two trades give me an overall gain !!!--- Out now until a big drop back to give another value entry or on the break of that 480p area !!-- GLA ---

I don't understand the 3 month graph shown on this platform unless it's showing the intraday lows ????? ---- But using more trusted platforms and simply put ----- needs to stay above 455/450p now and move on swiftly to re-take 475/477p area asap --- around 485p is res. after that and then a run up to 510p .------- The 477/480p area was the price being banded about by Analysts to open short positions at ---- so it will be interesting going forwards now !!!!--- Closed out my last "average down " long posn. for a good profit and went back in at 455p ---not much of a gap to play with so a close eye on next week 's levels !!!-- GLA -----

Afternoon All--- Lovely sunny afternoon here in the Marches , cold but sunny !!--- Good Luck, Optimus, in trying to get those bankers to tell you where they stash the cash ,but i do envy you your trip to the big smoke ---- Haven't been there for a good few years now ------must visit again before they sing the "green green grass of home " over me (lol) ----- Well, markets taking the Big Dipper ride at the fair , i see, ---- was never my favourite !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!----- Busy and costly weekend for me at home , i'm afraid ------did a test run on the heating boiler ready for the winter switch on ----a rather big bang followed the "switch on" as the fan blew up and all the fuses blew !!!!!--- Wife then tried to do some washing and , b****r me , the cold water valve won't open !!!!!!----- Just as well i've been an electrician most of my life ---- at least i'll save a bit on the labour !!!-- Never re-newed the washing machine insurance as it didn't seem cost effective to me at the time (lol) ----- Anyways got a boiler fan and cold water valve cheap online so just waiting for them to arrive ( express delivery ) -- GLA -----i suspect it'll be another interesting and amusing week on the markets !!!!----
