Support @ 310/311 p has now given way and next good support level is @ 289/290 p . Let's hope that level holds . Expect a bounce of some sort soon as todays drop took the price to near " oversold" on the RSI . Really does have to get back above 309/310 p and hold soon . Sell into any strength if you are not prepared to hold long term , as further drops are very likely , unless that 309/310 p level is overcome again ----GLA.

crossed £5.00 three times on the daily chart and retreated --will it , won't it finish above £5.00 for the w/e. ?? Just needs to close above 490/492 really for more upside next week ----Let's hope the "figures" out of the US today don't spoil everyones party (again) ------------GLA.

Three days , which is normal, for the company to get all the info in from all sources as to who held shares in the company on the ex-divi day and RECORD that information !!.

date is totally irrelevant as far as recieving the dividend is concerned . If you had shares in Aviva this morning then you will get the dividend in May . If you SELL your shares today then you will still get the Dividend in May. Today is the important date not friday ---------------------GLA.

Trading " ex-dividend " ---- They closed at 492 last night . Opened this morning @ 492.4 -- 9.4 = 483 p. they are now trading @ 488.4 . Which means they have risen 5p in real terms for anyone wishing to sell at this moment in time. ( simples , lol) ----------------GLA.

Please stop talking about 4 April --- Aviva went Ex-Divi TODAY 2 April . You can now sell if you want and still get the Divi in May--- --GLA.

Really do have a "classic" uptrend with Aviva , despite the recent pullbacks , on both the upper and lower lines of the ascending , expanding wedge. The divi. drop tomorrow will not impact on this pattern . Technically MACD is showing signs of a pos. upturn and as long as the sp can close above 472 p tomorrow , then the trend is still firmly up -----------GLA.

tomorrow is going to be very interesting --- Better check my stop loss i think , or dare i say it, put a "short " order in ??---GLA.

Taking the "michael" , just cos one or two " inexperienced " investors don't quite understand the " in and outs" of dividends ?? -------GLA.

Is a " rout" we have come to see with banks and their ppi mis-doings and mortage companies with their endowment mis-selling a few years ago . This will impact on Funds and Investment Trusts who have these companies in their portfolios as "core holdings" !! I think i shall just close my eyes and not open them until september (lol) --- I hope that Fund managers see this as i do , and buy on the pull-backs , as these are still fundamentally "sound investment " companies , just going thru' a bit of a sticky "situation " ----GLA ( we are going to need it , short-term at least ) ----

Companies down into "oversold " parameters LGEN, RSL , etc. --- AV needs to keep above 460 p at close today or we could see 440 p next week . Tested that level this morning and bounced . Anyone that bought at that level has done well so far. --- Testing times for Annuity providers , more "revelations" to come i suspect over the coming weeks . AV will survive as will LGEN and SL. ( not so sure on RSL ? ) ------GL to all the faithful out there !!

Quote Shares Mag today : " New annuity sales improved 8% in 2013 to £279 million ,out of new business totalling £835 million during the year. " From that i guess that loss of annuity business due to new legislation will not impact on Aviva as great as the share price drop would have us believe ?? L & G would loose 27% of group operating profit and the PRU much less than this. --GLA.
