Optimus : Where to start ? ---29 Aug 2014 14:45
Forgive the " blunt " advise / questions ---not meant in any bad way !! --------1 . Why the US 500 ? 2. Why £20.00 a point ? ( far too much for iinitial trading --keep to max . £1.00 / £5.00 point for now -- can move against you too quick --esp, shorts in a Bull Market ) . 3 . You are trading the Futures Market , anything other than the DFB or Daily is a Future and can be traded outside the normal trading day ---DFB is a Future unless in normal trading hours when it becomes a Daily Cash Trade . 4 . I know you are showing a loss but i recommend reducing your £20.00 / point stake to far less or if you don't want to do that then go Long on the Dec. 14 US 500 at £15.00 / point to hedge down ( has to be your choice tho' ) . If you leave it as it is you stand to lose £460 -00 ( £20.00 x 23 ) . 5 . If you click on the "open positions " tab and then click on your trade at thebottom , once the "ticket" has opened you can click EDIT and put in a LIMIT BUY on your trade ---sometimes a bit " stupid" on IG platform , so ring the trading desk on 02078960000 or 08004096789 and they will happily do it for you ------- 6 . Click on the "chart" icon ( third along , next to the down arrow ) ----open up the interactive chart for the US 500 ---click settings , change to line graph --click "daily " and change to smaller time frame ie; 5 minutes or 4 houres etc -----click on " technical analysis " and tab left or right and click on RSI icon . ----------------------------------------You now have a graph showing you the US 500 in any time frame you like ( will update interactively for you and you can overlay all essential technical indicators !! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------lastly, Optimus, Dow is still very Bullish ------the drop from the high of 17146 was immediately followed by a rise back to it ----the drop over the last two days to 17000 was immediately followed by a rise back to 17140 ish today ---coming back off highs as i post ---good time to reduce your exposure as US 500 is now back on 1999 --------GL ( Apologies if you already knew a lot of what i've just posted ) -----hope it goes well .-----
