The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring financial educator and author Jared Dillian has been released. Listen here.
I find Odey's position intriguing - he seems quite the contrarian but was spot on with his call to short the FTSE down to 5900 and is worth listening to. Most of us would say that Tung has been a car crash over the last 12 months...and the latest numbers show absolutely nothing to warrant further investment at this time. I can only assume those buying are doing so with fingers crossed for a trading bounce, or in some long held belief that the concept is a good one (it is) and value will out in the long term. I make the assumption that Odey is in the latter camp but I'm damned if I can see his logic why given what we've been told so far....perhaps he intends to lend out his top up? Would love to be a fly on the Odey boardroom wall.
Nothig here to ignite the engines I'm afraid, so it remains a waiting game. At least Dollarz got something he wanted and they've put off the half yearlies as long as they can to try and maximise the numbers.
So Panmure are basically saying it's fair value as it stands now. Anyone got a reasoned explanation why their target is half what Liberum came up with yesterday? What do they see that no one else seems to? Strange goings on here.
Blimey GS, you have more toes than a Chernobyl frog, I've now lost track of your ins and outs. I reckon you have a big toes worth and about 10k in your dog's sipp at the last count. No matter, that was a very tempting price today as I can't see how the news justifies such a drop. But the little voice in my head says something can't be right, if it's not shorters, it's a massive loss of confidence by someone, but who? Apparently not Woodford, so can it just be pi's or HNWI's driving it down? Not sure what to think about Woodfords little buy, an attempt at slide arrestment more than a genuine vote of confidence? Gonna hold out a bit longer and see what the FCA reports in a few days, might kick myself but if shorts don't materialise and confidence returns, a buy in around 200 given what it was will still be nice
Yes it was PG, didnt realise it was their existing target....still a watch for me for now
Hmmm...New broker target 244...worth watching a bit longer perhaps and see if GS's shorting theory materialises
You're like a rottweiler Spikey lol...
Some bigger buys today, panic sellers gone maybe?
And you would know that how exactly?
No basis whatsoever for believing results won't be good unless I've missed something...think just some pi's getting nervous, but results had to come out sometime and the lead up to that is always stick or twist time. It is always going to be yay or nay with products like this, so far the coy have demonstrated it is technically proficient in what it has done up to now so why doubt it now. Of course it's a gamble and carries risk, don't all pharmas?
I think Brian meant a small % of the total funds he has to manage...rest assured Woodford will have been privy to much more information than us before he decided to stump up for another 100 million and own 1/3 of this company. I'm sure those shares were for his Patient Capital Trust...the clue, cmc, is in the name.
If Woodford was happy to buy 100million @ 10p, then I'll be more than happy to add at that price...
In no hurry to move out of cash, might risk a punt on ET bringing home some bacon in a few weeks time if i could get 50, almost jumped in today but didnt.... youve still got your Putinphobia I see
Hi spikey, not invested here but tend to follow Woodford stocks. Funny to come across you in this unusual location as opposed to one of our old haunts, but just had to post when I saw your GS repost as it made me laugh, maybe the old boy just got a bit confused :-) ...I'm fine, been 95% cash for ages hence no posting anywhere..letting a smidge ride in OXP and BCN/REM for some fun, but that's all. Lost a bit of interest in dealing in AIM but enjoy being a board (bored?) voyeur. I'm sure you're enjoying the turmoil in your angst-ridden sort of way, but my emerging markets portfolio is not liking the Chinese at the moment...still, it was a good run. ATB and apologies to UTW regulars for the o/t chat.
Well spotted spikey lol....still can't work out if GS is in or out, or if he's bullish or bearish here. The old wife's ISA tale eh?
Ipo was 300p...interesting piece in today's Sunday Times suggesting lock in period for Warburg due to end in a week and could be massive sell off, so bargain prices to be had. Fortson of the Times has this as a sell until we see what Warburg do, but he believes sub ipo price is likely...he's also quite bullish about the prospects so I'm going to be watching closely for a few weeks
Personally, I thought there was no meat on that RNS today...was a bit too vague and smacked off rushing something out to counteract the fall in sp. I like the potential here, but I've been out since 60p and will stay out until I see those H1 numbers...22% increase in revenue and some confident chairman speak means diddly, I'll reserve judgement until I get a bit more than that.
You've been pretty much manning the guns on your own today....where did the rest of the gang go? I assume immediate boom is off the agenda here now so resources deployed elsewhere? Like the look of this so I've taken a small starting position today...found a bit of space alongside Sula on my backburner for them
A decent end to a tough week...we clearly have a seller holding this down, look at all the regular, nice round 10k and larger sells every time we get any forward momentum. Does anyone remember Mr Pinotgrigio's theory from a month ago? Don't mention it, best not to raise it again... it surely couldn't be, but someone else maybe? Possibly an ii reducing...must check those fund holdings and see if there's any activity.
