I have been to a few important conferences and doubtless some were there for the jollies.
Personally I went to make deals. Not to drink, or to 'network'.
Then again, I was spending my own money, because I'm an entrepreneur and investor, not a corporate lackey :)

Personally I find networking rather tiresome and pointless.
Either you perform and get results or you don't.

I appreciate fortunes are often made by knowing the right people.
It is also still just about possible to make fortunes by actually delivering value.

The company has performed admirably and delivered results in extremely difficult conditions.
Unfortunately they weren't what we wanted or expected. It happens.
Fortunately there are still very strong signals worthy of further exploration.

Drug discovery is difficult, failure is very common and only hindsight is 20-20.
If anyone has a specific and constructive criticism of how this has been/is being handled, that would be great to hear.
Perhaps there is some room for improvement in our systems.

To who? Perhaps the courts will get around to it in 4 and a half years?

IMHO:
- Everyone always thinks they're the good guys. Only the sociopaths truly don't care.
- Joey is a good guy but sometimes susceptible to mis/disinfo (as are we all).
- Mani sometimes gets things wrong (as do we all) but is honourably trying to counter the endless doom.
- Ghia is at best unaware of how badly Rob has treated people - or else doesn't care - and is sometimes perhaps a tad patronising.
- Rob spent half of 2020 insisting the virus would get weaker and go away. He has attacked people for posting important research, he has stalked and threatened people, he has made at least 10 sockpuppet accounts, he has mocked the bereaved. He has serious problems. He does sometimes get hold of some useful info, largely by abusing peoples' trust.
- Recovery had funding pulled
- Monkeypox is not nothing
- Strive will go ahead
- Covid is not over
- Extremist ideologies will fail
- One day we will get our drug
- Life is a continuing lesson in humility
- Most of you are terrible judges of character

If you're a cool-headed trader, good for you. If you're a hot-headed firebrand, good for you too.

I believe the reason for this was the competition for trial sites.
The more complex the trial requirements, the harder it was to sign up sites and patients.
