Things really are looking positive. Obviously early and scientists won't make definitive statements toll full evidence but as market participants think this video is helpful in assessing risk in murky waters

I agree about USA markets bigger worry. Also worried on inflation generally; particularly huge energy spike; discretionary income will be down which could hit travel but then again pent up demand for travel may lead to cut backs on other discretionary spending instead; ie not replacing car. I'm LTH and think energy crisis net positive for RR in longer term as is net zero; which is presently largely responsible for energy spike; lack of investment in oil exploration with kick on into fewer gas discoveries
I'm still thinking my £1.85 prediction could come to pass. I think science has got a handle on this thing. Issue with poorer parts of world isn't vaccine supply; it's the need for public education campaigns to overcome vaccine hesitancy and basic delivery infrastructure of shots in arms. But if a country like SA with a large proportion of population who are immunocompromised are recording no deaths then developed world will have no issues. The 28 day thing not really relevant: SA data people had it recovered; no deaths at all
NHS reportedly planning to roll out Covid antiviral pill before Christmas
Think WHO saying don't panic and that travel bans are wrong I tend to agree with. Think Welsh and Scottish worse than English politicians at playing the game of mighty protector of the people

The gain of function controversy over covid is still undecided. But scientists do do that research. Presume reason is to understand viruses so you can manipulate them to become less dangerous and also help research for vaccines; treatments etc. Initial evidence suggests a HIV or AIDS patients was where Omicron began as virus could exist so long it had time to mutate so much. Presumably this person had many viruses potentially included flu and virus mutated naturally. Surely scientists must be playing in labs with delta etc to mutate it with less deadly viruses to mutate them to becoming less dangerous. All I'm saying is glad I'm Iiving in this age and previous ones and that we should invest much more in science: it's payback outweighs costs by enormous proportions: think we could all agree that this nightmare has most assuredly proved that

The fact that Omicron symptoms are different from previous variants and suggestions it has adapted with genetic material from viruses that cause flu to my mind is encouraging. The symptoms are simular to flu and less similar to original strains; particularly no loss of taste and smell is encouraging. This is armchair but think markets will move rapidly if this is endemic development. Wish I knew where first authorative report will be published: that report has trillions riding on it
Earliest report with actual patient outcomes: this is real science; not armchair

May be young population but have over 7m with HIV; only about 60% receiving anti- viral treatment and many with AIDS. Western populations fair healthier, far more vaccinated and we have NHS with required covid anti-viral drugs; and even with so many people who are immunocomprosied: no deaths! Time will tell but as WHO says stop the panic
Nigeria found it in October and still no deaths

Ryanair and Wizz Air publish latest passenger numbers
Before Omincron figures were starting to get better. If it doesn't make people ill flight numbers will storm back
