Gist of the story is that Greenland Minerals an Aussie Rare Earth Metals company backed by the Chinese wants to start mining at Kvanefjeld Mine just round the coast from AEX's Nalunaq mine. The locals are up in arms about possible pollution tempers are rising and a snap general election is being held today.

According to Van Meegen, the modern skipper does not have to give up on costs. The entrepreneur has calculated that the operation of a flow inland vessel is 6% more than that of a diesel vessel. According to him, the environmental gain more than makes up for that 6%. 'You can also fill up a flow battery in 30 minutes. Just as fast as a diesel. And you will be sailing with an emission-free ship that does not have to take into account the upcoming price increases of gas oil and special taxes that are coming.

End of tax year? I know I was running around yesterday sorting out funds (money from Granny to children, personal etc) to take advantage of of the year end and to be ready for the new tax year.

Gold price dribbling away below $1,700 most folk will wait and see especially over the year end.

Living in Scotland with the threat of Indy2 and a Nationalist Government, my mind is swaying towards some assets that can magically disappear if any currency etc restrictions come in to place (which in my view may be needed to stop a capital outflow). Will get a better picture in May

Alternatively they can be diverted to the kids if required at sometime in the future.
