Luckily Primer design has a range of bird flu tests for different strains. Hopefully they are able to gain some contracts.

They already announced 3m in cost savings since the last presentation in september so they are making progress. Also the NIPT and CF are growing at a nice pace, so we will see where that will take us.

A disease outbreak which requires a lot of testing would be a ''welcome thing'' though.

Too bad their takeover strategy did not work out. Otherwise Novacyt would have been their next takeover target.

Biosynex, which still holds a stake in Novacyt of around 2,5% said today that it will reduce it's debt by selling assets today, including ''strategic investments''.

I think it will also sell it's remaining stake in Novacyt which explains the price pressure in Novacyt stock today aswell as the past week(s).

Novacyt is currently trading well under it's cash position and there are 2 strong upcomming virusses in the world at the moment, namely Mpox and H5N1.

We are just a few Mpox cases away from Novacyt reaching 100p again.

If there is another clade 1b case in Europe that infects some other people outside of the household, that will for sure drive up speculation again.

Also H5N1 is popping up everywhere and 58 human cases have been recorded in the US this year. If that will spread human to human (50% mortality rate) you are looking at a SP that will be surpass Covid levels.

It's calm before the storm. The only question is: will the storm hit next week, next month, next year or in 10 years?

With the current market cap of just 33 million GBP, a cash position of 36M GBP, and expected FY revenue of about 25M GBP, isn't Novacyt becoming an obvious takeover target?

If one of the bigger diagnostic companies will make an offer of 100p/share (70m GBP) they will only pay 37M for Novacyt.
