Well I thought results were pretty decent against a strong comparative last year. Interested to hear what others thought happened today but perhaps institutional buyer waiting for strong results to top up or instigate a position

Hi Vol, I don't know if the founders were panicked by the FCA investigation and accepted that 400p deal. At the moment though they look committed to pushing the business forward. I have been through all RNS since the final results. Since the final results I can see that both Odey and JPM (or clients of JPM) have increased their stake. odey from 23 up to 25%. JPM from 7 up to 9%. So they have been increasing at higher price levels not just sitting on old positions. In addition it looks like all other spreadbetting frms have announced strong results in last couple of months. This is not the question you asked . . . . but just wanted to point this out ahead of trading update on Monday!

"N+1 Singer predict profits of $60m in 2017 against $67.8m in 2016 " Ahhhhh so this is why in some investment software has Burford predicted to make less this year than last! it all makes sense now. I know they had a large one off event but the invested capital is continuing to grow at a pace and they are also in a placing period for a bond to provide more working capital. My belief is that 2016 will be ahead of 2015.

share price looking weak amongst strength throughout the market. I have sold up in the short term to hopefully buy back in at a lower price. johnny I agree with your bull points below but you can feel this has some short term weakness in it?

Did anyone else here attend the presentation on Tuesday. Christopher Bogart the CEO spoke very confidently above future prospects. The amount invested continues to rise and seems they can even choose investments now to fit the duration they require. Question to all what do we think is an appropriate PE ratio for this stock? As they are market leader, growing profits I would imagine 18-20 would be ball park? Does anyone have any good ideas who we can bnchmark them against?

Hi Volisgood. I would imagine spread betting would be the most compatible as I imagine the clients would be similar to CFD's. Also the client acquisition model of online affiliate sign ups I would imagine have a big overlap. Would also make sense to pick up more punters in the UK with spread betting.

How much of the market is it reasonable to assume we will be able to take here? It suggest total size is 7mil a month in the RNS. But what percentage of that would QP be able to get?

Hi Johnny. I don't know this for sure but I thought it was in large part based on market cap? If it was larger than those in the index then it would get promoted?

Just another thought. PE ratio still only 13!
