I'm not invested in Cine but don't mind admitting my investments elsewhere are currently underwater. The reason I keep revisiting this forum is to lap up the quite breathtaking naivete. One of the most common refrains being something along the lines of "I went to the pictures last night and it was really quite busy ergo the share price should go back up again soon". Honestly it makes me feel like quite a sophisticated investor.

It looks far more reactive than proactive to me "In consideration of extreme volatility in the markets".

The two most striking things for me are that they are now not HODLing the coins that are mined and have reduced significantly their BTC backed loan (whilst increasing non-BTC backed debt).

I am surprised that ARB have not already taken action with regard to their BTC backed loan as this must be a real millstone around their neck at the moment.

@Stille - I don't think it is that clear cut. It depends on the relative cost of living in those countries. If it is significantly higher in France and Germany (which I understand it is) then if they all got paid the same I'd expect you'd get the French and German staff grumbling they only get paid what the Spanish do even though their money doesn't go as far.

For example is it fair that many jobs in the UK give a London allowance? Try taking that away from those that currently benefit from it.

Wow. Almost half its BTC sold at rock bottom prices. Pretty sure others will follow but hopefully ARB won't be one of them (at least to that extent anyway). I think much depends on the implications of the BTC fall on their BTC backed loan with Galaxy.

What do you mean it’s an “internal test”? It’s a test that they have to pass to meet the requirements of external lenders.

If they pass the RCF covenant test then I wouldn’t necessarily expect an RNS saying so. Any of the other possible outcomes though (refinancing or paying down 65% to avoid the test - or a successful waiver or failure of the test and an unsuccessful waiver) will certainly merit an RNS.

I'm not sure that's true (apart from the tourist trolls who turn up on a bad day just to gloat at the misfortune of others) and I just tend to ignore those.

But the more regular naysayers do generally give reasons for being bearish but the bulls just respond typically with insults and nonsense along with a heavy dose of condescension - making for a pretty unreadable board at times.

I think we are actually quite similar in that we both get irritated by people who deal in unsubstantiated absolutes. It's just that you appear to get more annoyed by the bears that do this and I get more annoyed by the bulls who do it...

True Calamari but most of those assets are directly are backing liabilities (BTC backed loan, NYDIG loans based on equipment/machines etc.) plus shares are priced much more on profit expectation not asset values.

But take your point that there are situations where the assets could prove attractive for another player if mcap is particularly low.

AB - Thanks, and I actually agree with what you say. It's the 'don't worry it will be alright on the night' brigade that are irritating.

This company (and industry) has very real risks attached to it at the moment - hence why share prices for all miners are currently so low. But these seem to be dismissed by many on the simple and bizarre grounds of 'what comes down must go up'.

For me I think the potential rewards outweigh the risk, at least to stay invested rather than take a loss, but aside from yourself most of the arguments put forward by other 'believers' in this are based on hope or flawed logic rather than credible thinking.

I'm invested, and would love to hear a convincing argument as to why it is 'going to move up'. I can think of several plausible scenarios where it could move up significantly from here but where does your certainty come from?

Which bit are you objecting to? Vultures don't have teeth. Sharebel called himself a 'pro' investor (always a tell-tale sign that they are not - and by the way nobody is a pro investor that posts on this board). He was also mildly misogynistic. And surely you can't argue against it being both the entry and exit price that matters (as you want the second to be higher than the first)?

But whatever, someone like you who has nothing to say about the share but everything to say about other posters, often in crude terms, is not somebody whose good opinion I care about.

And some miners won't have the luxury of 'quarters' at this level, let alone 'years'.

On a brighter note though is Friday the first day since before Covid that 3 different films have grossed over $10m on the same day? Or even close to that? For me that's more of a good sign than how a single, particular film is doing.
