CWWX - I did treat it that way (and thought it funny). I wasn't whingeing about your grammar - or anybody else's. Like you I'm more interested in comments about CINE than about whether somebody has a got a comma or an apostrophe in the right place (though Mag's repeated mixing up of 'quite' and 'quiet' did get to me).

I was just annoyed at a poster (not you) sneering at another poster's grammar when in fact that grammar was correct. So was genuinely apologizing to you for it turning into such a distraction. Which it has done again :)

Mind you, there's little going on regarding CINE at the moment whilst we await the next bit of news - hence the board mainly consists of idiotic ramping or de-ramping - and boring grammar spats!

Apologies. I agree that pointing out grammatical errors is annoying on these boards, more annoying than the errors themselves, which is why I posted as someone was being snarky as a putdown about somebody else's grammar when in fact it was perfectly correct anyway.

Btw the above paragraph also uses three commas in the same way as the original quote that was challenged with again the first pair representing a non-restrictive clause it seems - had to look that up :)

Yes but that was only after 41 blocks. There have been 372 in the latest set so far so much more likely that the difference is meaningful.

Like AB I think this is probably a genuine sign of things to come - but of course still too early to be sure.

The first two commas go together as a pair. I expect there’s some proper term for that particular use but don’t know what it is. The third is a separate, normal pause.

Chae - Don’t get what you mean by trying to get closer to 10 minutes? Surely if anything it is more likely to move further away before the next difficulty is set but who or what is doing the trying?

Actually the comma is perfectly correct. Hopeless de-ramping though but maybe just offsets the hopeless ramping elsewhere (e.g. BP2 breaking all records and tickets hard to get).

Board would be better off without both perhaps.

I think you must have misunderstood HC’s point as you’ve just reinforced it by producing the seemingly best argument that he suggested bitcoiners can make i.e. that it will do again what it did before.

As with all charts there is no guarantee that history will repeat.

I think it’s you who perhaps ‘doesn’t understand the market whatsoever’ if the think the US market with its tiny volumes is a reliable indicator as to how the UK sp should move.

Not only that you seem to actually believe what Mags says. Among his many porkies has been:

- insiders and institutions hold 70% of CINE stock
- CINE is currently profitable
- labelling many LTHs as shorts
- Q4 will be the best quarter since before covid

Not to mention his highly dubious daily topping up. What sensible investor does that??

Nothing wrong with positive posts - everything wrong with lying to try to get others to do what you want them to do.

Huss - They actually show the impact of the lower rents in their projections and the latest for this was around $2-$3m per month so not huge and less than the additional fees they are incurring being in Ch 11. So I do think $800m is closer to what they need to be profitable - and probably a bit more.

Hi Allkap - yes I'd forgotten about Q2 numbers. US Box Office of $700m per month was enough in Q4 last year to produce positive cash flow but even though Q2 this year was higher it was not enough. Inflation one reason as you say but interest was also higher and of course results are not just all about US Box Office - revenue from other countries, concessions etc. plus other costs all play their part.

I think you're right though i.e. $800m is probably closer to the level of monthly US Box Office required to produce a positive cash flow for CINE - maybe a bit more. So a fair way short this month with just $450m to date.

They project overall negative cash flow up to the middle of next year (hence the funding that was required) but as we move to 2024/25 things should look better as you say.

I did Huss - and Disney have also just sacked their CEO and in another interesting piece of news a TV show took third place in the US Box Office at the weekend. Knives Out 2 is also coming up for its limited (but wider than usual for Netflix) one week release as you suggest.

So a direction of travel may be building but it's early days and CINE has more immediate concerns.

Correct - a monthly $700m box office in the US is roughly what’s needed for CINE to move into positive cash flow so November looks like it will be a bit short.

It’s looks broadly in line with what CINE were predicting though in their latest financial projections so I don’t think it makes things any worse than expected - though not better either.

They did though forecast December as being a positive cash flow month thanks to Avatar 2 so hopefully they are right there too.

We haven’t heard officially about Intel and although you are right that it appears to make no sense to expand having just flogged machines on the cheap it may be the terms of the deal mean they can’t just back out without incurring big penalties - or the £20m+ deposit is not returnable and means they might as well complete part of the order depending on how far the development has gone.

I know it’s clutching at straws a bit but there’s an outside chance they could still end up with some machines out of the deal which could help sentiment.

Agree though that it just delays things from a survival viewpoint as that needs a much higher BTC or a white knight with big pockets - both long-shots in my view.

HC - I agree. I was just trying to suggest things that COULD help the sp short term and MIGHT help attract a new investor as examples for PI but I agree they won’t spark the kind of FOMO often seen on penny stocks and also ARB in happier times.

PI - That only answers (maybe) the first part of my question of getting the sp higher. It doesn’t make the share any more attractive to a placee - just makes it more expensive.

Maybe they will announce they are getting some intel rigs after all and that results from testing look really promising. It’s about the only thing I can think of apart from the Pluto merger if they do indeed benefit from that.

The big difference with ARB and other small caps is that ARB is full of knowns (and bad ones at that) and very little mystery i.e. things that can potentially spark excitement and FOMO. All the examples you quoted have that potential in spades.

I can understand how traditional miners, pharmaceuticals etc. can get pumped but ARB can hardly put out that they think they’ve discovered a rich seam of BTC in Alaska or have a revolutionary new product in the works.

So rather than just being patronising how about actually answering the question. What can ARB actually do to artificially lift their sp AND lift their appeal to potential investors?

How exactly will sp be pumped and given the state of the finances who is going to invest anyway?

And BTC may need miners but it doesn’t need all of them. Arguably it only needs one and as far as publicly traded companies go it doesn’t really need any.

I’m not referring to insider dealing or anything wrong on HNS’s part but more that the person doing the telling may be breaking an NDA.

As to Ian he has been proven wrong on so much else I have no faith at all in anything he says.

HNS - Fair enough, although a bit surprised someone in that position would divulge such information that still doesn't appear to be public. Still, there is nothing to suggest they are the biggest lender and anyway we know that they are not part of the DIP group so their position is weaker than those that are.
