Hmm - the last company I follow that put itself up for sale like this was AST - different industry but similar story - loads of perceived value - failing to make progress - and its story since is as here so far - price spike followed by fall to lower values - which we have to asume will continue today unless there is news either by announcement or rumour. AST has had spikes since but is still lower than when it "put itself up for sale". Of course the difference is this has had a recent offer - but it perplexes me. I am in neither - logically I should be in both - but "all you need to know is what the price is doing" is keeping me out. I think companies that "put themselves up for sale" are making an admission of failure and this is part of the problem. I will be interested to see if anyone can make me feel differently about this. I have an open mind.

BB would have shown the Weald had potentially free flowng oil over large areas. I think it should have flowed OK but we never got a proper reading. Kimmerdige has been producing oil for ~100 years (citation required) and we knew HH was good. Until that bad result is redone and shown to be good - the size of UKOGs resources will always be considered undefineabe IMHO, so yes 11p then but not with all this news now. Then on top of that the death spiral put a whole lot of extra shares out there dividing the value up into smaller bits. JMHO.

The concensus amongsth pundits is there will be a short squeeze on the stock markets starting anytime in the next 2-3 weeks and aa Christmas rally then.. bang fizz flop. As I keep telling Laks - when verything else loses its value - gold shines. Wehter this lot will shine is another matter tbh - but I hope they do., BTW this tifs because smart money may need a month or so to properly buy into their position.

I don't think the drop in oil price is any coincidence. Saudi's busy appologising that they didnt expect the demand to stand up. Trump giving the surprise back door get out. How does low oil price affect the world - well among other things it discourages UK production. I really think they are afraid of what the UK has in oil and gas potential. Also, for users, having our own suppy of oil is a big advantage when price is low as more of the price is in extraction transportation. So not such bad news for Wealdies as it is being made out to be.... In low price times, cheap is good.

Chartists talk about end of trend gaps, I just term this an "f off bottom" - the purpose of which is to panic as many sells as possible at exactly yht wrong time. Most common view was first chance of a rally is from mid Nov. Driver would be a pre Christmas short squeeze. Looked a but unlikely after last weeks bounce until the knew Sino-US spat today. Looks a good call now IMHO. However if APPL falls now, and drags the Nasdaq down with it - I can see the Dow and S&P and then the world starting to follow it without the final sally to higher highs every happening. Hence bonfire night - the night of the big fire storm starting.Not happening at the moment though thankfully.
