Nonetheless - as this is a slow killer - that leaves a fatality rate on "finished" patients of 67%. Social media showing pictures of the roads out of Wuhan being bricked up - and the tunnels filled with stones, concrete and sand. US and China asking for voluntary travel ban - how long before the shutters come down ? And then, the thing I dreaded most - now seen on TV - younger people with good immune systems collapsing and dying in the streets without warning - that is what happened with Spanish flu in 1919 - the immune system killing the victim in an overreaction. This is an escaped bioweapon - the Chinese know it - and they have probably told everyone else. Its designed to kill people. All sorts of animals can act as vectors. Nurses are shaving off their hair because they think the virus can get onto your hair and not be washed off. And then of course the safety glasses. The eyes are a door in for the virus. This is an ugly monster of a disease - inflicted on man by man - and its mutating to adapt to it's host pdq. All I can say is "the idiots !". Why the hell did they let this happen ?

Hi Treacle and all, I've spent the last 3 days checking everything from social media, mainline media, and everything I can google about Wuhan. I've lost interest in share prices. It's all going on shorts on the major indices and I'm off somewhere remote. It won't be safe there but hey ho. So long guys, and good luck.

Topped up early and haven't sold yet. Expect a low dollar will prompt a US market rise and hence a UK market rise, and looking to slice this afternoon. If not, I always have more ammo to save for 1250 and 1150 and 1050.

Very low fatality rate - and the people who won't be buying cars or houses - so if your supposition is correct, this is a no brainer top up. Never sure with this one why it moves - but don't expect it to stay down - topped up

I've seen people say PIs typically have 5 going. I'm real low on 4/5 funds at the moment due to this and hence the covering short, and then I have my goldies of course but the pog tells me what to do there. However igndoing the sillies in one day AIM shares I have 5 FT350s on the run at the moment - because it is a down day - and because the pound is strong today - though the dollar did jump on us - but what's the point in holding funds on a down day when the pundits are saying IT is overbought ? Yes - 5 main shares is typical, I is for the brave T !

Hi G & T, Tin hats was because of US futures, UK futures and pog. pog fell back first, but futures are still uninspiring lower and flat - however - look at the undeniable resistance of this baby. Creepy crawly up since open - of course, I'm overweight here now and looking for a chance to slice - but will wait and see. If I have to top up more at 1250, 1150 and 1050 again I will be well narked, but I have a little 3uks running just in case.

Sajid Javed (hope I spelt that correctly) announced no regulatory alignment with the EU which means goodbye to all the high skill jobs in automotive, pharma, and other tech industries. That means a gradual decline in consumer spending power and so a lower pound, which means a further decline in consumer spending power. Market getting its revenge in early.

Surprised how little the pound has fallen (so far) - good news here IMHO
