In your example, "lateral thinking" means pointing out that 25 + 5 = 30 and then disregarding all of the (very good) reasons why the likelihood of a takeover arising from that is pretty much zero.
This is the stupidest thing I've read on here in a long time, even including Andybe4's paranoid rants. What reason have you got for combining the shareholding of two unrelated parties?
I just emailed Richard Marsden to explain to him that his shares would be worth a lot more if he'd been smart enough to throw a few smiley-face emojis into the Topline Results RNS.

MrCosts - "How can Polygon know anymore than us?"
The same way I know more about this than the guy who cuts my hair: research and expertise.
How many analysts do you employ? How many of them have extensive knowledge of clinical trial procedures? Do you have any contacts at the WHO? There are plenty of things other than inside information that can you them an edge.
Worth noting that Polygon issued an RNS on 4th March announcing an increase from 23.282% to 24.301%.
That was two days after the price briefly hit 16p on news that SAB was leaving Activ-2 due to 'operational futility'. I suspect Polygon was waiting for today's announcement before continuing to buy, which probably explains why they haven't increased since 7th March.
