Cobus Loots, CEO of Pan African Resources, on delivering sector-leading returns for shareholders. Watch the video here.
Congratulations indeed. This would make a wonderful film one day. What do we all think the price will do today, next week? We know what is going to do long term but I'm enjoying trading 10pct of my holding.
I just can't wait for the Over The Rainbow party and to meet all you folk, I've been reading your comments all day every day for 18 months and it will be great to put a face to so many of you. And meet RM, he has to come!
Maestro, it sounds very exciting, both as an investor and as a mother to a son with lung issues. 20pct of my pension is invested in riskier shares, POLX and SNG. I know much more about SNG, having followed it daily for over a year, than POLX, and am deciding whether to rebalance between the two. If FDA approval wasn't granted tomorrow, and I accept the odds are 90pct, what would happen next? Thank you for your views and help as I learn about this company.
'Why can't Synairgen do what Merck has done?'
I would love to believe that trials are completely fair and who proceeds is entirely down to science. However, through hard experience I believe it has far more to do with money, politics and business. The drug I am talking about was trialled on 374 children before being given approval for child and baby use, and when suicides and extreme childhood symptoms/behaviour became apparent no one was interested and 16 years later the drug is still being widely prescribed. On the other hand, imagine one person died after taking SNG, it would be shutdown immediately! Synairgen has to jump every hurdle clearly in my view. There's a lot of money to be made from a sick population. They have great tenacity and in my view a true aim to leave as their legacy to the world a healthier population.
What a Merck drug did to my 8-year-old was nothing short of evil. It robbed him of his childhood and caused neuropsychological ill health for over a decade in a previously healthy child. We lived a 10-year nightmare. He was prescribed it following his first and bad asthma attack. He took the drug for 3 months. Children suffered severe hallucinations, extreme fear, complete mental breakdown, severe anxiety, such dark evil dreams, suicides. We mum's fought the FDA until a warning was printed on the box. This drug is still prescribed widely today, leaving a legacy of harmed children; I find that unbelievable and truly sickening. Asthmatics, those suffering COPD, those with covid, the vulnerable with flu, NEED SNG, a drug that gets them over life-threatening viruses without causing further harm. What we don't need is another novel Merck drug potentially with a cancer causing risk. But cancer ahead means more drugs, more profit, and keeps big pharma turning! RM, SH and Co are my heroes as they fight against govts and big pharma to get their natural antiviral to market. I applaud them for their perseverance, for staying independent and doing the worldwide trials they need to do to force this through. I pray for their success and will stay invested, and when they gain approval I will dance in the streets, and not because I've made money but because they did it! And because many children and adults won't have to suffer the fear that accompanies being unable to breathe.
I am invested in Synairgen because a Merck asthma/allergy drug caused long-term harm to my young son. SNG001 comprises of interferon-beta a natural antiviral protein already found in human lungs. I would take that and give it to those I love everyday over this new Merck antiviral that 'introduces errors into the genetic material of the virus'. Once bitten, never again.
Thank you so much Helen, I've now registered too. Very interesting that the second named speaker is head of commercialisation, gives a big clue in my view on what the Q&A session will be on. GLA!! Helen
