That is one heck of a good update, totally unexpected, my view is the news should be enough to rerate MTL significantly, short term I see no reason why 3.5p cannot be targeted giving a EV of circa £170m , that is not demanding to peer groups.

For every £20m of debt repaid equates to 1p per share upside.

Some folks close to the market suggested Monecor have cleared their position, maybe a large trade will show tomorrow, a serious weight of money seems to be heading into Corcel in anticipation of the overhang being gone, upcoming news & the Align broker note.

My bet is the shares will now propel significantly, Corcel is one of the few remaining resource companies that has not re-rated with the sector, current market cap is a measly £3.5m.

I expect to see a target price north of 5p for starters.

This looks a great deal more-so as only £600k is payable up front in either cash or shares. Further payments subject to performance targets.

The deal looks very value enhancing and copper is the market buzz word at the moment.

Fools and money are easily parted, for once Bird does seem to have delivered something meaningful, it looks like it could transform Xtract to multiples of the current market valuation, potentially life changing sums of money could be made, there are very few fools among the long term holders here that I can say for certain.

Pretty certain Align are close to management, another very positive move today as they are clearly happy to take shares in lieu of interest cash payment.

It is clear they are also holding their shares tightly, their 'conservative' target price is circa 18p but this could be overwhelmed if AST get a good result out of Slovenia.

It was nigh impossible to buy AST shares in any size last week, my bet is there is a background buyer happy to snap any loose shares that come on the market.

The much anticipated news-flow is not far away IMO, as such I suspect this will continue to drive the share price higher, my bet is we will see 10p hit next week, even then the market value would still be under £10m

We all know AST are pursuing damages from the Slovenian Gov, discussions have been ongoing since the summer, these damages could be as much as £45m, that would equate to circa 50p a share, even if half of that was paid it would transform Ascent.

Not a time to be out for sure.

The positive for minority shareholders is in Thomas Anderson, he will ensure any new deal will benefit ALL shareholders, he will want to avoid dilution at all costs and ensure the deal has the ability to deliver shareholder value.

He also has the power to call an EGM should he feel the BOD are not working in the interests of shareholders - I think the share drop is materially overdone and have bought in accordingly.

I see no reason why this should not propel back to 3p+ soon enough

Have followed a number of these tragedies over the years, usually they do not effect mining operations beyond a few days, there have been a couple of incidents like what has happened today at Trans Siberian with Caledonian Mining over the last few years, in both cases families were supported and mining operations continued, soon recovered to full production levels.

The market usually drops the share price but within days the share price recovers.

Not advisable to sell ahead of the update IMO, there is evidence of some very large buy trades over recent sessions, MTL has proved to be somewhat leaky in the past, are insiders taking positions ahead of news one wonders?

Plenty of upside from current levels.

Worth noting that MTL will report Q4 numbers and a general update this month, they reported on the 18th in 2018 and the 30th in 2019, last year was delayed into February.

During Q4 the gold price probably averaged it's highest since MTL started producing so I am expecting some very decent revenue numbers, we should also benefit from the new plant and other ongoing operational performances.

My view is the update could drive the share price through 3p assuming all is well.

So potentially only between 9 and 19 trading days to wait, this update should start to move the share price through 2p and possibly 2.5p - if the update beats forecasts then 4p is entirely possible IMO.

Looks like news could be incoming, nigh impossible to buy in size currently, share are so tightly held, Align have a target price around 18p if I recall, they are backing this with their own cash also.

Only 90m shares in issue , still only £6m m/cap, that's nothing for a company pursuing damages IRO £40m .

It's a known fact on AIM that share prices rise in anticipation of news and that is what is coming from Cobra in January, it could be material news to boot.

You would not normally sell when the RSI is at basement levels like now, the two combinations are why new investors are and will take positions, it is not inconceivable that the herd could pounce on Cobra like they have done on ECR and others minnows.

In my view the shares are cheap

People post on these bulletin boards to suit their agenda - fact is the shares are oversold and the Strength Index is at a 10 month low.

This is not the time to be selling, on the contrary but weak and inexperienced trade on bulletin board 'sentiment' this can turn in a flash !

No brainer for upside, who will sell at current levels? No-one, read below for explanation.

The fairly recent £1.5m note fund raise was priced to convert at 2.3p a share with warrants attached at 3p conversion. No sellers there.

Prior to that recent warrant conversions were priced at 2p, add to that the share price has been averaged 2.5p over the last 6 months, so most 6 month holders need above 2.5p to profit.

To conclude the only sellers will be ones prepared to take a loss on their investment, most need the SP above 2.5p to balance and above 2.5p to profit.

When the market opens Tuesday fill your boots sub 2.3p IMO.

Materially oversold - RSI at 12 month low - can see a bounce coming - hit 3.85p in October - buy low sell high !
