Mtro sp has only one way to go ....up..and don’t pay attention to the daily gyrations.
Bidding war is probably preparing now ..
It is well capitalised bank but failing management succeeded in causing its stunted growth..
It reminds me of what happened to Midland Bank before the bidding war to acquire it..
Its current sp I can only described as ridiculously cheap..

Capital gain and loss are treated differently from income of any source..
By the way you can carry your capital loss and set it against capital gains in the future years.

I disagree that oil price will get cheaper ..
We are currently in an unusual time for the oil price which is imo is manipulated to some degree to stay down and aligning with usa presidential election and to keep Trump pledge of keeping oil price down....but cannot keep this forever!
The world population continues to grow and demand more oil...
Oil reserve and shale are all have a life expectancy to dry out and more oil discoveries needed but spending by big oilers was cut down dramatically in the previous slump of oil price.
Shale cos in huge debt and rig counts in usa are down nearly 200 since 4/10/2018
Shale cannot survival depends on higher op and need decent profits to pay their debts piling.
Geopolitical uncertainty in the gulf middle east.
SA and other oil dependent countries need higher op and they cannot grow at the current op or satisfy their budget needs.
China,usa trade war has massive depressing effects on op.
Trump effective policy of keeping op down at any cost to win the next election but things will change as he appears to upset too many people.

We are in a world full of uncertainty and volatility in all commodities as a result..
The world needs more oil and higher oil price and I think we are currently at the bottom of this cycle..

G..is stable and sp will rise once they start telling us on increasing oil production and exploitation of their assets in Kurdistan and beyond and more news of gas to diversify..
It is a company to be in now and more and more patience is required and for me it’s no problem as long as they are paying near the 7% dividends...

You have until 5/4/2020 to claim this year loss..
Paper loss does not count as loss .

Though the oil price might go up as Iraq is a member of opec and export nearly 5m barrels a day!

The north of Iraq is quiet and no uprising reported..Kurdistan is like Scotland ,self governing.
G oil is not at risk nor its export routes....though the market may react negatively as G location in Iraq but I don’t see this will last long once they realise G is not affected...
On the other hand if op rises we might see G sp up...

Oil companies are safe and in fact could flourish without corrupt officials...
Sp maybe affected or not moving up with other oilers but only temporary..

Geopolitical situation in Iraq now is unsettling...
There a big national uprising in Iraq in most big cities to topple the central corrupt government and over a 100 people have been killed since last Tuesday..
So far Kurdistan is spared but not sure for how long!

Yes...but does it really matter how or by whom it’s produced ,as our opinions, robots ones or humans and charts are in the category of “logical fallacies “ but I am not shooting them down because they don’t confirm to our ways of thinking.

Some newbies here and other previous holders are giving interesting opinions and different thinking from ours and I respect their views which help to make me stay with a tiny hope or having a better dream than the nightmare we are continue to be in...or maybe this is self defeating escape from reality..

This bank is now very solid on fundamentals and its total capital ratio is even better than Barc.
Back to facts..all bad news in the open
Shorters are playing havoc as they hold substantial numbers and can easily play around with sp for now, but they will have to sell soon as the bank weakness they bet on for now have been rectified ..they need to exit at lower sp and what a better time than today!
Sp dropped dramatically to loosen the weak holders as they want your shares...look at today buying vol/ selling vol then all there to understand somebody is building stakes..
In summary shorters attacks to drop sp to exit and somebody building larger stakes..
For me this is a very strong hold but as always dyor...
