Some on here may recall in the late 70s the the battle between the rival formats for home video recording Sony's Betamax and JVC's VHS, which was won by VHS. Betamax had better picture quality but VHS had longer recording times and was more widely licensed to manufacturers, ie it was more affordable and accessible. The end result was that Betamax faded into obscurity.

The battle between ADCs and PDCs may be considered to be an analogous situation where PDCs are easier to make, cheaper and a better product and will thus win out.

Time perhaps for an Emperor's New Clothes moment when BP and the markets are asked why they are wasting their money?

I can see the rationale behind that statement, but for LTHs underwater for years now, it would surely make sense for Avacta to make some attempt to improve the SP, if only by a modest amount ( say 20-30p) so as to improve SH sentiment and prove that movement above the low 30s is possible.

With all the engagements/ discussions that have seemingly happened with interested parties, some small scale booster to the SP must surely be possible, given all the expertise at Avacta's command.

Deals have to start somewhere and there's no point leaving it so late that the tech becomes overtaken by others.
