I googled forward spread betting to see if I could get some information. I went to a link on investopedia.com which came up in the google search. I'm still none the wiser after reading!

Seany, last years buyback was completed on the 25th August.

Possible we could see the buyback completed Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday next week if volumes bought back over the last 5 trading days are maintained.

I said in my post at 16:57 yesterday that it was possible to get to 50 billion shares in issue in 3 years based on 12.15 billion the number of shares bought back since February 2022 to date. Realistically, it will take at least 4 years to get to 50 billion shares in issue if shares are bought back at a similar pace, as the NET reduction in shares since February 2022 to date taking account of share awards is 9.87 billion.

Oakie......The buyback has bought back 12.15 billion shares since February 2022. So it is possible that 50 billion could be reached in another 3 years assuming that £2 billion is set aside for buyback each year.
