I do agree with your comments in your second post, the politicians are over reacting and putting out fear communications that are not warranted. And it seems to me the current noise that is coming from Downing Street and Holyrood suggests to me that they will be imposing more restrictions, probably not before Christmas but after Christmas or New Year. How much stricter I don't know, but hope they do not go into lockdown again.

What an odd thing for you to say? It is not wrong. If the vaccine is said to give you 75% protection and you do not take it then you have 0% protection relative to the protection that you gain from taking the vaccine. And when I say protection, that is not from catching it in the first place as we all know it does not stop you catching it. It protects you by reducing the severity of the symptoms you suffer and therefore reducing the likely hood of requiring hospitalisation, and reduce the likely hood of death if you do catch it. The amount of protection then depends on whatever demographic group you are in but it is fact, your chances of requiring hospitalisation, or death, are far greater if you are not vaccinated. As you say some people have had it without knowing, but is that a chance worth taking and not taking the vaccine? I think not. And I am sure those unfortunate enough to have had the virus and suffered sever symptoms requiring hospitalisation or relatives of those who have died would not agree either.

That is completely the wrong and foolish analogy to make, and it could potentially be fatal to you and anyone who takes you seriously! It's not about taking a car with potentially faulty brakes for a drive, which no one with any sense would ever do! It's all about how much protection you have by not taking the vaccine against how much protection you have taking the vaccine. One thing is sure, if you do not take the vaccine you have 0% protection! So given the choice of 0% protection no vaccine, and 75% protection by taking the vaccine it's a no brainer! I am triple jabbed.

Your information is misleading as I believe Ireland was in lockdown on Dec 9 2020?

Given that the SP was around 50.5p to 51p prior to the November BOE MPC meeting when the markets were expecting a rate rise, I think (hope) now that the markets seem to be anticipating no base rate increase, the current SP has no rate increase in December already priced in so hopefully we should not see any significant retrace of SP when (if) confirmed by the BOE MPC meeting next Thursday. There again, I was surprised that the SP never had a large fall yesterday after the Government announced moving to Plan B restrictions, so who knows?
