This is very much what Tay was writing about in a thread on twitter about five days ago. There really is a good chance that novacyt will be an integral player in this new and bolstered diagnostics sector...

This right here is so so important.

I don't think investors understand that what's happening now was always going to happen. Yes the headline news suggests that vaccines might be more effective than we originally expected, they may have arrived slightly sooner than we expected also. But they were always coming. At least we bloody hoped so or we'd never have returned to anything close to normal.

There are now two big questions, with the second being the more important one:
(i) How much money will we have in the kitty once peak testing is over?
(ii) What will the 'new normal' look like? Surely all this talk of building a diagnostics sector fit for purpose can't be ignored the moment a vaccine is rolled out? Where will novacyt fit in...

A combination of these factors will determine what happens to novacyt two years from now, whether or not they do become a midcap company worth 5, 6, maybe 10 times what it is worth today.

Let's acknowledge that as traders it would have been smart to have responded to the vaccine news by moving a bit of money around and avoiding covid stocks for a few weeks. Easy to say with hindsight but also kinda obvious.

But at £7 a share and potentially hundreds and hundreds of millions in the bank and new avenues to exploit in the short, medium and long term, this is not the end of the journey here. We as investors are placing a lot of trust in Graham and the board but for the past 9 months they've not put a foot wrong and we've got to hope that continues...

I thought the government had until today to trigger phase 2 or our machines and tests may be sent elsewhere? This relly is the news we are waiting on, phase 2 plus versalab would be concrete proof that we're now producing way more than 10m tests a month...

All this 'remember Acacia' stuff is disingenuous to be honest. We were all aware that they were a distressed seller and it was far more of a punt before the phase 2 readout...

Personally I disagree. It says to me that the company are pivoting from public sector to private sector - a major strategic move.

Most of us on here have been pretty sure they'll be no sales figures until end of year results now, especially after the director purchases. It doesn't therefore mean anything...

When the directors bought a few weeks ago I didn't necessarily think that we had a new care home contract lined up or that we were about to trigger phase 2 of the DHSC contract, I reasoned that it was a sign that the January full year results were going to blow all predictions out of the water (last chance to buy in before closed period). Graham has kept quiet about profits for a reason, to keep a low profile and keep the narrative on the fight to beat covid. Come January he can legally keep quiet no more...

Jgcw history suggests otherwise. In the half year results this was what was said:
The Directors reiterate guidance announced on 13 July 2020; given the visibility of orders, extended contracts and the launch of new COVID-19 related products, revenue for the second half of the year is expected to be greater than the first half of the year and margins to be at least at a similar level. Full year revenues are expected to exceed €150 million and EBITDA profitability to exceed €100 million...

Then less than two weeks later we landed a contract that was a minimum of £150m and a maximum of round half a billion!
