It's so damn obvious that the government knows this but have sought the far easier option of dishing out millions of LFTs. Vaccines are so close now, surely one last push over the christmas and winter period would save thousands of lives and although expensive, would only be temporary. I don't know, five mobile labs in each county so those visiting care home patients or the most vulnerable could be prioritised and be 100% (okay 99.9%) sure of being virus free???

Just skimming through and may have misread that - are we saying only 40 patients have been recruited for the home trial in TOTAL?! For real? CW's parents make up 5% recruited in six months?!

Dave, are you talking to me? I'm making what is a blindingly obvious point that the vaccine isn't good for novacyt. Imagine there was no vaccine for a moment... we'd be almost guaranteed to make billions from testing and would be a midcap company on that alone. But the vaccine also doesn't spell the end of this journey because like you say, there is a future beyond covid testing for this company. Not only that there is likely to be revenue from covid testing well into future also, just not on this scale.

It therefore is understandable that the vaccine news affected the share price here. No vaccine = guaranteed midcap and possibly even bigger. Vaccine - likely midcap as long as the cashpile is reinvested well.

Anyone who claims a vaccine is positive for novacyt is talking rubbish. A vaccine was inevitable however and it does not spell the end for covid testing, far from it.

That's simply incorrect - last year's full year results was 28th Jan. I think this year's half year results were a week earlier than in 2019 so I'm expecting results the third week of January.

I will admit the article was a bit of a wake up call for me yesterday - not for the reasons that most think, but just a reminder that some things can be too good to be true and that it's silly to throw all of your eggs in one basket, whatever the share. I bought up so many shares during the dips that me, a 27 yr old on minimum wage and with all his savings in his stocks and shares ISA, was suddenly sitting on £60k worth of shares (I was buying from £2.50 a share).

I sold half this morning just to be sensible and will now wait for communication from the company. This move to decentralisation within the NHS is what I think could make novacyt into a multibillion pound company so further evidence that the points made in the article can easily or have already been addressed and I'm back all in! If great news lands I will lose out but I'll also be ready to throw the £25k in cash straight on and will still see tidy returns.

The abuse of them on twitter is quite unseemly. Yes an article like that does affect our share price but targeting indivisuals does bring out the uglier side to investing when we've tried to focus on the good the company is doing...

let's be honest, if the sp drops 10% because of the article it hardly affects the actual work the company is doing, especially in novacyt's case.

It would have been nice to hear that the journalist had got back to VanV or someone else to say that they were not aware of Promate and after more research pulled the article - however I'm probably living in cloud cuckoo land!

The issues have been with them since the rollout and yet the director buys followed... so it's clear that they weren't concerned / are not expecting any unsolvable problems.

It's still not been verified on here that Promate addresses the problems raised in the article. Can anyone with better knowledge than me confirm that Promate is there to solve the issue of complexity mentioned???
