Why? There are no claims of it providing 100% protection (Oxford's is 62%!) especially after just one dose. I think I read that the pfizer jab is 52% effective three weeks after the first dose which seems low, but it did lower the risk of severe illness on those that caught it.

I'd echo those that said don't try and break it down - the question is whether or not the drug works to significantly cut deaths, progression to serious illness etc. the rest is just noise.

James McCarthy is on there was 10000 shares, Maverick Fund 2045 shares. It's not compulsory to be visible on that list though so probably not what Larry was alluding to...

Wilson, I think he means must declare over 0.05% which is 37000 shares. In other words there might be 100 or so institutions on 0.04% that we don't know about (making up 4% of the company).

As it happens I don't think funds tend to update regularly between 0.05% and 3%, the threshold in which they then legally must submit a TR1.

Soder is right that fundamentally midcap means absolutely nothing. In this case however it gives (albeit vague) an idea of the ambition of the company. When Graham said that he wants to transform novacyt into a midcap he wouldn't have a number in his mind, he's not thinking £2b mcap or £4b mcap. He's saying he sees this company growing substantially into a leading diagnostics company capable of turning over billions. That is clearly what he is aiming for and to do that he's started bringing in individuals that have managed companies that size before (James McCarthy for starters).

I have to admit the shambles with the home trial has affected by faith slightly in the company. It was always going to be a challenge to fill but it was a chance to make headlines with this novel trial. I know the strict criteria has made it more difficult but since May when it started there must have been close to 2 million UK citizens testing positive and they haven't managed to get 120 signed up?!

The old largely stick to the rules because the old are scared of getting it whist the young aren't. This may sound cynical but there is no society, at least not in this country, people look out for themselves first and foremost and their loved ones.

If the next pandemic is more harmful to the young than the old you'll find garden centres more busy than Justin Bieber gigs.
