I beg to differ mapper. Until a full vaccine rollout and a chance to assess where things are, it makes perfect sense to continue to ask for a negative test upon arrival. Beyond that I still think breakouts or new worrying variants will see restrictions reinstated at the border.

To those annoyed by the negative comment from the doctor at the end, it's just classic Bbc 'balance'. They rarely pull it off with any subtlety.

We're all in a different situation that's all. I doubled and then tripled down between 77 and 87p and planned to derisk at £1.20, then £1.40 but still haven't mainly thanks to some of the contributions on this board and the news we all knew was coming. Will eventually have to sell some just to keep my sanity!

Doc you're being a bit harsh on Zwartz, he only got today wrong by 71%, cut him some slack.

This issue over PROmate is an extremely important one. If my memory serves me correctly we saw the odd post from a disgruntled nhs staff member on twitter, maybe two colleagues. Then we had the R&D update on the 16th November which included the launch of PROmate. A few weeks later came the infamous Independent article with the scare mongering claim that the government were having to consider pulling the plug on the new DHSC contract. There was enough inaccuracies in the piece not to be spooked into selling though and the writer (and probably the disgruntled worker he tracked down) wouldn't have known anything about PROmate most likely.

It would have been helpful to have heard from novacyt and been given some clarification on the matter but I respect that they do things their way. Like Kaeren said, having not heard anything since and from what I understand of the new technology it should alleviate at least some of the issues.

I'm heavily invested here anyway but if the further rollout of Qs across NHS England was more or less guaranteed now with the move to decentralisation of testing in the UK spearheaded by novacyt, I'm pretty sure I'd sell my car and everything else of value and move it into this investment. It's really hard to fail when you're that embedded in the public health system...

Quickdraw, to me its obvious that they've chosen to keep the actual number to themselves and leave us guessing somewhat. The thing is, if we're selling anywhere near 10 million tests a month then the broker forecasts are going to be smashed. If the production is actually 20 million, well, we might be in for quite the surprise soon!

Absolutely, we've got to be in the driving seat too with the rollout of Qs, both in regards to the DHSC contract and ongoing care home clinical trial (which was also rolled out to new settings).

It's impossible to say what are buys and sells but seeing as the share price got moving early afternoon I'd hazard a guess those huge trades were buys.

I hope this is the turning point. We've all been expecting a rise into results and knew if it were to come it would need to start soon. Yesterday the small rise was promising but it was clear that if we fell back again today then it meant nothing. Today really puts the cat amongst the pigeons and sets up up perfectly for the rest of the week. A rise tomorrow and I expect we won't be seeing the eights again...

A disappointing day share price-wise but we should all be feeling more relaxed about our investment. What was Zwartkops prediction today? 71% rise or something?!

I think the news coming out of Abbott today tells us a lot. Most important to me is the fact that a company that turns over something like £25b a year with a market cap of ~£150b is going at covid testing and going at it hard. This is a massive, massive, massive market and novacyt are a key player (at just £600m mcap)

You'll see it with other growth stocks like Boohoo sometimes. A big rally into results and then a drop off the highs despite good results. I don't think that's a possibility here unless the share price rallies to new highs pre results.

Growth stocks like GAW have to really deliver to warrant the p/e ratio and valuation they attract, there is little room for error at a p/e of 60+
