RE: Research Info to increase Holding15 Jan 2021 19:33
Porky, as an ncyt friend I'll give you the best I have to offer although there are holders here far intelligible than me.
I first bought here in March in what was without doubt a punt. I wanted to be in a biotech with a covid-related drug and truth be told I probably went with synairgen based on the trust and respect I had for a few posters on this bb but also the team at the top of synairgen (and I'm a Soton Uni alumni!). This was my first ever AIM buy and I got a bit jittery waiting for p2 results and ended up selling a third of my holding the Friday before the Monday that was! The news we all hoped for landed (and some!) and the rest is history. As it happens I managed to buy them back at 08:05 paying a mere 100% premium!
Since then it's been an almighty ride. I have learnt that it's absolutely essential to ignore the share price and focus on the research and whether the investment case has actually changed meaningfully following big sp swings. When the vaccine news landed I took the gamble to sell on the news and then begin building what for me is now a potentially lifechanging holding between 77p and 90p.
Today the investment case has never been stronger. Even just a few months ago I would be questioning if I was being incredibly credulous and overly attached to this company. How can I be so sure that on a strong p3 result, which is without doubt likely, we will be 600%+ higher than where we are now when the share price is struggling to hold above 160p? Surely these shares would be snapped up and gone at this level and we'd be looking at £3 minimum? But I'm sure I'm not kidding myself. This is an absolutely unbelievable opportunity.
Looking back this could well have gone wrong. If Sars CoV 2 turned out to be mutating at a much slower rate with little chance of vaccine-evading mutations we might not be looking at such a compelling investment case. If a couple of other drugs had turned out to be highly effective treatments and as versatile as sng001 we might not be looking at such a compelling investment case. If the virus had managed to be much more easily contained globally we might not be clamouring for effective treatments like we are now... but none of these are what we are faced with as of today.
As for sng001 the recent findings related to the ACE2 protein significantly improve the chances of a successful phase 3 result, and possibly convincing enough to be given emergency approval in just five or six weeks time.
Go through this bb as much as you can this weekend. Pay particular attention to posts from the likes of pmjh, Oxford12, Ghia, AnthonyW, Docdaneeka, SeaBoy. See if you can find the recent webinars and presentations from synairgen and Richard Marsden and watch the youtube videos with Proactive.
Ask yourself this, can you afford to lose that £50k? Not would it be a big blow but can I afford to lose it? If yes I think this is an incredible opportunity at this price.
