Despite my own uncertainty the fact remains that £87m was raised 20% above today's SP for a P3 that is still on going, plus we have the US trial fully funded alongside. If Polar and other IIs see no reason to sell right now I don't either.

This evidently isn't going to help short term bitcoin sentiment. It really depends on how much Tesla needed the money, if they needed it immediately for expansion that's completely understandable but otherwise it's quite quick to be banking profits and doesn't provide confidence that they are going to keep building their holding long term...

For small caps with little II/director ownership message boards/twitter are often a good indicator for share price direction. In those companies a loss of interest/panic by Pis can cause major share price swings.

That's not the case here though with, I believe, only about 25% of the shares in PI hands.

There is certainly less hype than there was before but that's because of the nasdaq listing and the pump and dumping that went on, plus the potential for this to have rocketed to a value at least as high as the lowest of the three main microbiome comparators - KLDO. In a sense I feel more comfortable holding when the volatility stops.

I know people like to point out that the placing price doesn't mean much but I think in this case it's acting as a strong support.

Thanks for the replies. It's blindingly obvious that VRFBs have significant benefits over lithium it's just the cynic in me that worries about government short-termism, caring more about being seen to be dealing with climate change and going green than actually doing the right thing for the long term.

Still, I'm confident whatever happens VRFBs will have their place and future demand for vanadium will be significantly more than it is today.

How likely is it that these large lithium batteries can be made more safely once the fire risks are more widely known? Is it possible that scientists will come up with novel ways to mitigate the risks in the future leaving no need for VRFBs or is it more likely that VRFBs eventually get the recognition we are hoping for?

Always good to keep a few shares in the portfolio, one day those 4 shares might be worth 40 quid!

That really sucks Deos, sorry to hear. Perhaps try and avoid looking at the SP or this forum, everyone is delighted with the last few trading days but it hurts when you end up on the wrong side of things.

Pearls, I'm curious to know what your motive is here, would you mind sharing it? I, for example, am not invested currently but I do think it's an extremely interesting share and sector and am looking to get back in at some point so follow avidly.

You don't seem to have anything positive to say about Arb/bitcoin so one assume you're shorting, but if you're the type of person who invests in stamp collecting I highly doubt you are in the shorting game either!

Positive to have Paul onside and highlighting the value here - would be nice if Justin takes notice leading to a slightly more detailed analysis the next time Vadim is on Vox Podcast.

If it wasn't for protesting and direct action from the 'tree hugging vegans' you can be damn sure we wouldn't be dealing with the climate crisis until it was far too late.

As much as I feel the investing in BTC directly is the better bet than investing here at current SP the number one thing that keeps me interesting in Argo is Peter Wall - a CEO who continues to deliver, is unusually accessible for a man in his position and also a really great guy to boot.

In a relative sense it's true, barriers to entry aren't particularly high. It is still very difficult to replicate what Argo have done though without a lot of money and some considerable time. I agree that the valuation is currently frothy though and think at £35k a bitcoin investing directly in BTC vs £1.65 Arb is the better bet from here.

That's right, except Zcash has fallen considerably from its ATHs set a week or so ago. In a way, from a fundamental basis, the 'current' price of Zcash is more important than the current price of BTC as high Zcash and low BTC equals more BTC.

If Pearls was just a deramper I'd find them more annoying but the fact that they are actually here to promote another company, SGI, that is in the business of stamp collecting at least offers some comedy gold. Not only does the company seem totally out of date, the share price reflects that, 83% down over the past five years, 99% down from its February 2014 peak - that's right 99%!

It is a good question and one I've mulled a few times. The likes of Musk and Michael Saylor as quasi figureheads do have an enormous amount of power in relation to BTC and have the ability to manipulate it. If, hypothetically speaking, Musk or Saylor pull off a trick like you suggested it would be extremely damaging to bitcoin and the whole crypto space. Personally I think one of the main reasons we are yet to see more big institutions buying heavily into BTC is the lack of flexibility it allows them, in other words it's very difficult for them to sell freely without making headlines. If Musk or Saylor start selling that will cause an enormous loss of confidence in their disciples and with it a steep fall in the value of BTC.

Fortunately Saylor and Musk do seem genuine and as others have said, unlikely to be in it for a quick buck, especially the former who has become a big name globally thanks to bitcoin and in a sense owes it to the community to continue championing the cause.

Same here. Not a holder myself currently and am sitting on the sidelines but thought it would close up around 140 to 150. The share price was clearly ready to rally back past £2 and it was only for the sharp fall in BTC last night that stopped it in its track. A steady climb back to $60k and you should be in for a good week next week - happy weekend!

Bitcoin is absolutely self-fulfilling and is without doubt the reason it has managed to see such monumental and sustained rises this year - it's all in the HODL mentality.

The self-fulfilling element is largely why they are useful in my opinion, thousands of traders eyeing up the same moves generates huge buying/selling pressure.
