I apologise and take it back. It's not highly likely a sell, just likely in my opinion but certainly not possible to know for sure. But you have it wrong, it's an after hours trade, every one of them is shown with the same bid and ask as the UT, LSE always uploads it this way but it tells you nothing.

Whether you like to admit it or not the next few trading sessions/weeks if no news are likely to be difficult for holders. No-one knows exactly what's going to happen but sentiment is not with synairgen and I doubt any trader worth their salt is looking at this share and throwing half a million quid at it at this exact point in time. Getting people's hopes up wrongly might lead to rash decisions that get nervous holders further into trouble when in reality there is plenty of time to assess what's going on and let things settle before making the next move/doubling down.

Dan you're using gross profit/income not net, aren't boohoo looking at ~£120m net profit and hence a p/e of ~ 35?

Don't be so ridiculous, I can buy them back if I want for 25% less than I sold them for just a few days ago but I have no intention to. I don't want to get in lower, I would consider trading this if the shares crashed to 90p but I don't think they will and hope they don't. I just don't like seeing unalloyed ramping when many people are already well under water and might end up trying to double down based on mistruths.

That trade has shown up after hours so there is absolutely no way of knowing whether it was a buy or sell but seeing as the shares are downtrending I think it's at least fair to say that it's unlikely any big time trader is throwing half a million at this, not until the volatility has subsided at least.

I've got to admit that somewhere along the line it just doesn't add up to me. When something seems too good to be true it often is but in this case I would never forgive myself not to keep building my position in BMN and cross my fingers that all the wonderful articulate and supremely well-researched contributors on here and twitter turn out to be correct!

Apologies for my naivety but how easy is it for a company like Argo to start mining a new coin like ethereum and can it be as profitable as mining bitcoin? Is there any large public companies primarily mining ETH?

Clawed back a lot of the losses to finish just 2.6% down, not too bad in the circumstances.

World Quant is currently shorting over 7 million shares (~1%). I said a week ago when the share price was soaring that WQ would likely dig in and increase the short further. I don't think that's a bad thing at all and should facilitate an even bigger snapback when they eventually close the short...

I agree with you, that is very likely the case. There's another thing I think could have contributed:
The 120 patients are almost certainly middle class, most of which will have had some connection to SNG (mothers, fathers uncles, aunties, friends of shareholders, or have some link to Soton Uni). We know that poverty/inequality and the lifestyles that go along with inequality are a major driver of severe illness also. If these 120 patients were completely randomly chosen it could well have provided quite different data...

If you think back to a year ago, the mortality rate for covid was initially considered to be between 3 and 5 percent, then later approximately 1-2 percent, with much higher rates for those considered more vulnerable and obviously much lower for the young, fit and healthy. Sng's home trial for the over 50s with comorbidities and the over 70s was a very astute move and what we thought it would give them was the sort of data that no one else out there had.

Imo SNG did everything right, it's simply that those initial mortality/hospitalisation rates are much higher than first thought.

That's certainly why I sold Doc. Less than six months back we believed there was a good chance SNG001 would be treating patients during the winter 2020/2021 wave with the hope of approval for home use a little after that. Now the latter is very much in doubt and I'm sure I'm not the only one who wonders if H2 2021 is much more likely to be mid to late Q4 rather than early Q3.

The threat of IIs (Polar in particular) selling off on the news was too big a risk for me.

I don't think anyone on here believed a US blogger had given a (conservative) valuation of £40 a share. £3.50 does seem a realistic midterm target though.
