Let's be brutally honest, PW knew that the share price was a little inflated, a little bloated late February and took advantage of that by selling his shares. He was in a difficult position but I do think on reflection it wasn't a classy thing to do and if he was going to sell perhaps not £3.7m worth.

VanV I'm very much of the opinion that the "exciting long term plans for long term growth" is the most important catalyst to derive 'fair value.' Of course it needs to be both ambitious and realistic but markets are forward looking and don't function without forward guidance and outlook.

NMW, your view is welcome it just becomes annoying when the most prominent posters on a BB are ones with nothing positive to say and are more or less telling others not to buy. I would understand if there was a lot of ramping going on but there isn't.

This is one of those cases where if anything there is deramping rather than ramping. Of course that is expected when a share price is falling like this is.

If that doesn't perk up Mr Big nothing will.

Well the DHSC dispute created a panic that led to the share price falling all the way down to 360p. The subsequent positive news and rise all the way back up to 580p will have alleviated those fears with few expecting it to have any serious ramifications now... Hence imo WQ having to work harder and up their short more and more to force the share price down rather than it happening more naturally...

I get the feeling it's becoming more difficult for WQ to push the price down more than a percent or two. Not because there is much buying pressure but because there is little selling pressure and few rushing to the exit now. I don't think their plan will be to wait for news but instead close before that, facilitating a move from say 380 ish to well above 400 ready for news to land.

If it plays out that way it will make the ride back up much smoother but won't give us the satisfaction of seeing the short burnt!

There are no underlying fundamentals and there is a fixed and diminishing supply . For that reason there is almost no catalyst I can think of that would send it crashing towards zero except for something like governments slapping a 100% tax on all profits.

I can see possible 20% crashes but they'll be eaten up in time. It's just a question of whether it can keep rising year on year.

Too big to fail? Yes. Too big to see the sort of crashes of the past? I think so.
Will it keep going up from here year on year though? That's very much the unknown.

The run up to the MRx0518+ Keytruda initial Part B data (I believe expected June) will be a catalyst for a reversal...

It's common for the share price to do the opposite of what one expect following an update - as long as covid stays far away it's only going up from here.

Will the comment 'we hear you' soon be actualised. I don't care about the lack of comms / stubborn share price right now but once news starts being realised and the vanadium price rallies (very much expected) I sure as hell hope that the company is able to build the sort of momentum that leads to a serious sustained rise. I'm hoping that is what is going on right now but with the ducks being lined up first...

I started buying at 81p and am looking to double my holding around here. Possibly a little more downside first so will wait and watch but an amazing entry for a long term hold, no doubt about that.

Airlineboy, I should add that I realise how hard it must be for all you LTHs now to be told 'to be patient!'. There comes a point when you start to think it's just a meaningless cliche that's rolled out without any thought or reason...

I held for a long time and eventually lost heart and started trading more, only recently buying back in for the longer term. Good luck whatever you decide to do in the end!

The whole point of the short is to keep applying the pressure on the share price in order to exhaust weary PIs out of their shares. Each time there's a little momentum the short is increased to hold it down. With the dwindling interest in Nova currently it takes major news to derive the sort of buying volume to reverse the downward pressure, unfortunately.

As soon as the DHSC dispute is sorted that should be the catalyst.
