@Xenor, I don't set buy limit's or anything like that. This is a constantly evolving situation, right now Argo is not recovering unless bitcoin shows strength. I'll buy at 110p depending on the price of bitty but currently it keeps going down which could make this a little messy short term.

IF you are a bitcoin bull and believe that in, say, five years BTC will be at $500k then people here are about to be thrown the biggest gift they've ever been given. I've been open about being a little sceptical long term and am unconvinced of the high projections.

@Xenor, I'm not trading it now, I can't read bitcoin's movements so prefer to find an entry I'm happy with and hold medium term.

I've said it a thousand times on here but it continues to be the case. Companies with no forward guidance suffer badly. The company has sidelined everything to focus on maximising the covid opportunity right now but the markets are punishing them for it.

In time, with a credible long term strategy and the funds to execute that strategy the company should flourish.

Wider markets taking a tumble and getting caught up in that.

What a silly comment! I know 0.1p isn't happening, I know 110p is a possibility. I have others on my watchlist so if it doesn't hit 110p then that's all well and good and I'll stick with my small holding. If it does, well, thank you very much yes siree I will shake your hand and sign right there.

I imagine today went something like this - MMs opened the price slightly lower than yesterday's close, volume non-existent, WQ short in, share price sinks to 360p. Rest of the day is an attempt to get back to parity.

Macmdude, no that's not the case. FTSE companies have massive volumes and so shorts do not have as big an impact as small AIM companies. Some days here the volume is virtually nothing, all it takes is a few 100k shares shorted by a few different outfits (most under reported threshold) to tank the share price.

Personally going to hold off, 110p say tomorrow to 195p is almost 100%. Whether you top up or wait GL guys, it's choppy out there!

From 3.5p a year ago to 26p today there really has been very few pullbacks along the way...

Elon isn't stupid. I imagine this is his way of bringing the issue to more people's attention and pushing for the whole bitcoin network to move towards renewables.

Plans are being made to have them available by the Autumn, at least for the 9 or 10 million considered vulnerable/most at risk. I don't think we'll have anything concrete regarding boosters for a month or two though...

When it comes to investing here none of that matters. I think it's possible to have 65% of the current market cap in cash (it will be being invested so only hypothetically speaking) by the end of 2021 so investing at this price is an absolute no brainer. I also think there's every chance Graham and the team will make a success of transforming novacyt into a midcap business valued at £1-2b within a few years.

Fair enough. I think there's a resignation right now that we aren't ever going to vaccinate the world fast enough to prevent further mutations. Even if they were able to, the vaccine uptake in the young simply isn't high enough to eliminate the problems you've raised.

I'm not convinced the situation is as dire as you think it is though. Let's not forget last year we were dealing with a novel coronavirus. The best the scientists could do was create a vaccine over a period of about 9 months and then start building the distribution networks and supply chains afterwards. The current vaccines contain/mimic strains first circulating over 18 months now so it's no surprise that soon boosters will be needed. I do think going forward yearly covid vaccines alongside the flu jabs will be enough to prevent serious illness and deaths at anything like the rate the world has sadly endured over the past year. Sars coV-2 mutates at about half the rate of flu so at least in that regard creating effective vaccines is less of a challenge and with the mRNA technology now new vaccines can be created in super quick time.
