As it happens I expect new support to be found here at ~415 rather than previous support in the high 300s - higher lows before more news lands.

That supposed gap is between 409 and 414... if you zoom in far enough they'll always be teeny weeny gaps.

If I had the ability to stop everyone else selling out I would hold but I don't so I try to get in first so I can eventually have more shares later down the road!

Shorters haven't destroyed this company have they? I imagine from the inside the business feels like it's booming.

Possibly yes, however similar things have been said in the past. Last year comments such as 'who on earth is buying clothes in a pandemic?' were made constantly and yet once again profits grew significantly. They are obviously doing something right...

It shouldn't be an unlimited market but sadly the throwaway culture of today means the young will continue to spend their money on more and more and more new clothes year after year.

To be honest that statistic is totally meaningless without further info. Was there a heavy footfall the week before or not? If so a 3% fall isn't bad at all, if there wasn't it shows there's really very little interest in physical shopping, declining week on week after the initial novelty of being able to go back has worn off.

A profit warning is a profit warning and will always be looked upon extremely negatively. Whatever comes of it though the company are certainly in a strong and healthy financial situation, free from debt with cash in the bank so it's unlikely to make a great deal of difference longer term now it looks like the relationship with the government and government agencies is still in tact.

I choose to do good myself and leave other people to make their own decisions without passing judgement. If I wanted to enact change I'd run for parliament.

Triumph I agree with you in general that it's the unexpected left field events that lead to rapid share price rises but that doesn't necessarily apply to this situation. There are some obvious reasons why the price is where it is and there are some obvious solutions to that, solutions that will be enough to kick start a rally. One being an amicable conclusion to the dispute and secondly a bullish and positive longer term strategic plan (Q2). Of course they aren't a guarantee but there's reason to believe both will happen in the not too distant future.

The point I'm partly making is a rational one - managing to control the actions of society is very difficult. Last year when everything was fresh and no-one really knew who was at risk, compliance was high. Slowly fewer and fewer people stuck to the rules and we are now where we are, with all over 60s vaccinated, all the most at risk vaccinated and more than a year later. Whether we like it or not people are going to flout restrictions going forward so we can either just accept that reality or moan like miserable people to each other on a message board about it! I choose the former.

I am talking about a rapidly rising V (more than $60 like in 2018) and with it the share price getting well ahead of itself. I like to have money in companies whose share price has the potential to ignite. I am not saying that the business with V at $60+ is worth £1.2b, obviously.

Let's not forget that most humans are self-interested whether they like to admit it or not. If you dig a little deeper into most people's views you will find they are somewhat correlated with their own lives. The small business owner that will have to close for good if there is another lockdown for example will have a different view on what the government should do than the person who can work from home and on top of that no longer has to pay heavy commuter fees.

The novacyt holder is likely to have a different view to the IAG holder, also.

That's only true James if you're talking about sustainable share price. If the price of V continues to rally traders will jump on this like they did in 2018 and a spike to about a pound a share is more than possible. At that point no one cares about 'fair value', they buy if the hot stock that keeps rising and rising. Sure I'm not talking about a long term sustainable share price of £1+ anytime in 2021 but for all of us holders down here at these levels we may well get the chance to sell at ridiculous profits before buying back in after things cool off for a long term hold.

I'm very much with Soder. The lack of vaccine for certain groups is not a reason to continue to delay returning to a semblance of normality. At this point all the most at risk have been vaccinated and we are now moving down the ages to the 40s and 50s. If you are over 40 and yet to have a vaccine and are worried you have the option to exclude yourself from society as much as possible, follow all the social distancing rules and wear a mask when you need to nip to the shops. You'll certainly be avoiding getting on planes with young carefree people. The amount of people yet to be vaccinated in the UK and concerned for their own personal welfare will be relatively small though so to me at this point on balance pushing to fully reopen the economy is the right thing to do. We have also been sold a narrative that lockdowns and measures were to protect the NHS from being overburdened so unless there is some evidence that the NHS this summer could be pushed to its limits again with 3000/4000 covid patients a day if they don't delay reopening I don't see what choice the government have now.

If you think anti lockdown marches were large last year they wouldn't be a patch on them now if lockdowns are reintroduced.

What it perhaps shows is people did head back to the shops once restrictions lifted but it didn't take long for the novelty to wear off and for people to realise that it's just an all round better experience on the whole to stick to shopping online...

These rises are not insignificant either - evidently going further north than this.

Me neither but I try not to judge others who do. The young had their lives radically altered for over a year in order to protect the vulnerable and at least we're at a stage where everyone most at risk will have been vaccinated.

I shan't continue this argument however as this bb will not reflect the views of the average citizen in the UK!
