The problem is that there is now a divide between the vaccinated and the unvaccinated - an article in the guardian today states that the vast majority in ICUs are in the unvaccinated group and even the risk of the nastier symptoms like breathlessness are unlikely if vaccinated.

Despite the inability to block transmission if everyone got vaccinated the pandemic would more or less be under control now, at least until the current crop of vaccines stop being effective against serious illness. There would still be a small number of deaths of the most extremely at risk (frail/immunocompromised) but hospitalisations would reduce to a level that is much more manageable for the NHS.

The anti vaxxers/vaccine hesitant are going to keep the covid testing market buoyant for some time to come and by that time we novacyt should be at a different stage in their development...

To be honest no I don't think so - this was a theory many of us (including me) had this time last year when we speculated enormous revenue figures of £400m+ for 2020 - we wondered if Graham was doing all he could not to bring unwanted attention to the money being made in a crisis but that never turned out to be the case.

It's possible though I guess that a revenue upgrade rns would bring unwanted attention and for the sake of just a few million it's not worth putting out.

You are all coming to your own conclusions with absolutely no idea of what's actually going on behind the scenes. We might be about to get a formal introduction from David followed by a flurry of rns' and an updated and detailed strategic plan that sends the share price rocketing. The longer the wait the more anticipation built in to his first proper communication.

Equally there might be little of substance to share right now or there really is uncertainty and a differing of opinion on what direction the company needs to go in...

I'm perfectly fine with silence for at least another week or so before - after that then yes perhaps I will start to get a bit itchy.

Looking at the vanadium market and our increased production there is a very real chance that operational profits in 2022 come in higher than today's market cap - the risk/reward here is phenomenal.

F*** duferco, all we need is a smidgen of evidence that BBN's analysis of the V market is playing out + some BE news and this should fly. We've had a few false dawns over the past five or so weeks (push for 12p before falling back) but it feels like the next move up could take on some serious momentum.

Classic case of 'share price has crashed so must be undervalued' with GDR - they barely turned over £0.5m this year! There is huge potential upside but it's far more likely they'll go out of business, very poor risk/reward IMO.

It may be 2023 until the electrolyte plant is fully commissioned but if we continue to see growth and stability on the production side, if costs continue to be well managed (and declining as we scale up further) and if vrfb adoption kick ons then we will see multiples of the current share price well before 2022 is out.

I've thought about this quite a bit and whilst to be honest I would have liked some sort of message to shareholders (not an rns), I now don't mind that he's shut himself away and just getting on with the big job he has on his hands.

And in my opinion we aren't where we are because of a lack of communication, we are where we are because there was no real strategy beyond the present, nothing beyond making as much as possible from the covid opportunity in front of them.

Releasing that strategy in stages with regular news updates will reverse the share price decline. The opportunity is there for the taking but it will require more time and patience, it will not happen overnight.

Less than three months ago they reiterated their buy rating and target price of 570p.
