I may be getting this wrong, but I'm assuming the results tomorrow must be quite decent as my HL Dashboard has a closing price for AV of 445p.... Elsewhere it's showing as 414-416p. Am I missing something??!!

Yes, with a broker rating of 520p and a probable increased dividend, it seems to be the only way of benefiting from this "handout". Wouldn't leave it too long though as the price seems to be heading nicely north.

Barclays were the worst platform I ever used. They even gave me compensation at one point for their awful service. I then rewarded them by moving away. Unless they've changed it, their platform was far inferior to others, so it may be worth looking elsewhere.

$21.9m of $91.9m is about 24%, so SMG share should be around $1.67m, or are you allowing for other costs?

Having dealt with receivers, I expect their charges will swallow up most of the remaining coffers, so I doubt we'll see much at all, especially if they spin it out. Those boys charge ridiculous figures per hour.

Returning £4bn to investors has so far made me a loss... With almost 4bn shares in issue (3,928,669,421), that equates to £1/share. I'll be patient as surely this will materialise in some form, either dividends or increased share value.

I was getting a little tired of listening to all the predictions on here and their followers. This is the actual outcome and not dreamy £25m - £120m and it always was going to be the outcome.
How far can Ascent afford to take this? Not far I suspect, especially if they are fighting over an asset that could be profitable - they're up against the might and corruption of a Eastern European government. Think about it. A useless, don't give a damn apart from ripping off it's shareholders BOD, up against a state. Only one outcome here. You can do all your predictions, ramp as much as you like, but just look at the facts.
So disappointed in this company. No fight and now pretty much zero assets. I'm sure the BOD are directing their other companies in the same manner - float, strip and continue to BS. Just look into their personal history. I've pretty much written these off a few years ago and see no reason to get excited again now. Anyone thinking of investing, stay clear. I've made more money in Bitcoin in a few days than years here. Says it all.

Agreed Hulie. Plenty on here are expecting the Slavs to roll over and make a massive payout this week. That's not going to happen, even AST said as much in the RNS but somehow it got twisted on here to some kind of golden treasure chest just because a lawyer had written a letter.....

I'm averaging around 63p (forgotten to tell the truth), but really don't expect a lot to happen here with the current BOD.

Tango1, who wrote the word "amicable"...? Not the Slavs for sure. Indeed, even AST says;

"at this stage there can be no certainty that an amicable settlement will be achieved with the Republic of Sloveni"

Trust me, I'd love to see your figures come true, but I'm not holding my breath here. Too burnt in the past by optimistic RNS' that mostly result in disappointment. AST can't afford an expensive legal battle, or will they come cap-in-hand to the shareholders, again, promising riches at the end of the rainbow...?

Alfie2, I agree with you. I believe there probably will be a payout, but after arbitration and it'll be small as AST don't have the funds to fight this. It definitely won't be anywhere near the £120m as speculated by some on here.
Why am I here?? Been here for years. Got to a point now where it's hardly worth selling. If you want the full story, I used to day trade, made good money, set percentage profits, stop losses, etc, but my circumstances including work and country changed. As it was no longer my main income, I foolishly took my eye off the ball, and removed stop-loss from AST thinking it was going to go north. Yes, stupid mistake but I guess we've all done it. That's why we're here!
You'll see from my history that I don't post much as my portfolio now just sits there in the background, but still get slightly excited when news appears to come through... Then I remember we've been here many times before with AST, hopes built up then dashed. I think I know the pattern now, but I still admit that I could (hopefully) be wrong, though the more I see of AST the less likely I believe we'll ever see anything as there's nothing solid here.
So basically I think we agree, maybe £15m, maybe less. Are AST really going to fight if they're offered that?

Anyone here who expects a big fat cheque next week for £50m (or even the £120m I've seen written here !! :) !!) is seriously deluded. I find it difficult to believe the interpretations I have read on here of the last RNS, when basically it said Slovenia are preparing a response so hold off with the inevitable arbitration until then. If people really think the Slavs are going to roll over and hand over tens or hundreds of millions, they've never been in business. This WILL go to arbitration as Ascent will have to work hard for any compensation.

This board is a bunch of sharks who create companies to feather their own nests. I had a friend that did exactly that. Seriously, look at the track record of the BOD as a whole and as individuals.

having said all that, I'm still heavily invested here to the same tune that Kashdog was, so GLA! I could do with some back but am not holding my breath.

Don't wish to pee on your bonfire, but those were the words of "the investors", not the government;

" The Investors have as a consequence agreed to postpone the initiation of international arbitration until at least such date, and expect that settlement discussions will conclude around the end of this four week period with a view to signing binding settlement documents as soon as practical thereafter."

IMO, the government will make on offer on 19th March, which will probably be rejected by Ascent and then lead onto arbitration. Only my view, but I don't see why the Slovenians would suddenly hurl £50m+ at Ascent without a fight.

Doubt we'll see anything from Brenda... No money there from what I've read. Any info to the contrary??

Yes, we now have a date that the Slavs will respond by, but the way I read it, arbitration will probably be needed still. That doesn't sound good to me, after all, who has more to lose?
And for Align to Tweet they wouldn't support a settlement of less than £25m is a bit of a disappointment. Even the BOD dedicate the whole of the last paragraph to basically saying, "don't get your hopes up too much".
Time will tell and as you say, doesn't mean anything until the money's in the bank.
