Could easily be. I had a friend who listed a company on AIM in conjunction with a very well known public figure. Raised £400m (based on diddly-squat), spanked £360m at which point the shareholders called an EGM and decided to wind-up the company, receiving 10% of their original investment. My friend still had 10% shareholding, so came out with £4m... AIM is a dangerous game, lots of sharks out there.

I think there must be hundreds/thousands of us in that position. I've averaged down to around 62p now having invested heavily at around 180p... Ouch. Loathed to average down any further, so now just hoping for good news from Cuba/Slovenia.

Agreed Craigy990. Too much hype & bullying on here. God knows I want to break even on this one as I've put in enough to buy a small house, now just a posh shed. However, no news from AST and a BOD with a hopeless track record, I wish I'd never dipped in here. We are where we are now and need some positive news from the BOD to see any positive results, or a massive pump and dump which seems to be the current trend. Please, no more 71p, 100p, 200p... There's absolutely no foundation for those numbers given the current situation. If there was, the big boys would be here. They're not. If anything, they're leaving.

Yup, sadly not looking good. First Align top slice last Friday despite their "target" of 18p, now HSBC dumping. I'd been getting my hopes up (again) over the past few weeks but looks like we're coming down to earth again with a bump. Been here too many years to expect anything else.

That doesn't sound like good news to me . Why sell now with supposed good news coming and possible rise,especially when their target price was 18p? Worrying, but hopefully I'm wrong.

Fira, yes, AST is another of my headaches! Rumours of compensation payment from Slovenian government abound which have made it a 5 bagger in the last 3 months, plus foray into Cuba. Some big holders, inc HSBC Holdings increasing their stake, so something may be afoot. But, like here, no news as yet. Can't remember the name of the ramper, but I promise you I'm not Shirley!

Well said Bitcoin. Too much positivity here at the moment. I am a holder (in the millions of shares) but I won't be leaving just yet, partly due to my losses if I did. However, I hope that SML can come good eventually with the Cornish minerals. I shut the door and put them aside when the Cobre fiasco materialised (we won't see any money from the "main" client - DYOR) so can only hope for another major client there. With the world looking towards minerals and natural resources (and yes, I'm in AST and ACP as well), let's hope this rise has some foundation. I almost went into Wolf who set-up digging up tungsten down the road at Lee Moor just outside Plymptonl in Devon. Even visited the site. Experienced Aussie mining company but they couldn't make it work, so glad I didn't get in there and just hope that SML can make it viable. Hopefully I won't have to sit on them for another several years...

So Align's holding has gone down by 3%? Enlighten me please?!

I think there're a lot of us in the club... Target price 70p for me.... It hurts. I had a few million of these before the consolidation and was caught out. Yes, should have stop-lossed, but my misguided faith in the board fogged my decision. Still, heading in the right direction now and hopefully some rays of light with Cuba & Slovenia pay-out. Slightly concerned by James' CV though...

Nice to see and hopefully it's a step forward. Been in AST for YEARS and way down as I suspect many on here are, so it would be nice to recoup some of my investment (a bit unlikely it will be all...!). Oh to have the buying power of HSBC. They're already up over £1m today for a few seconds work....! :)

Has anyone actually received any shares or money as part of the restitution scheme? Seem to be dragging their heels, though from the recent RNS it looks as though payments have been made - maybe still in the hands of the brokers?

All claim forms (including supporting documentation) must be received by Deloitte by 5.00 p.m. on Friday 30 October 2020 in order for the claim to be considered. After this date the Scheme will be closed. If any claim form is received after 5.00 p.m. on Friday 30 October 2020 or is received before such time and date but is not valid or complete in all respects at such time and date, your claim shall be void and you shall not be entitled to receive any compensation under the Scheme.

However, my broker, Barclays, says, "We will aim to update your account within 5 working days of receiving the proceeds", which kind of leaves it very open ended..... Hopefully by Xmas, though I'm expecting it by next Wednesday. We;ll see...

Well, you got the, "another" director buy correct. Hopefully the rise to come... Something's afoot.
