Exactly PL75, hence my earlier post. It must surely be a company operating within the same space and to whom Awacta's offerings could become competition. The likely reasons being to hedge or to build a stake with a view to attempting a takeover further down the line. The other possible reason is wanting to incorporate one or more of Awactas products into their own offerings.

I can assure you there is a call centre, although you can also contact them online if you want to. The point is though, you don't have a dedicated sales progressor.

Usually when selling you have two people looking after you - a conveyancing solicitor and sales progressor at the estate agency.

The conveyancer conducts the legal work. The sales progressor makes sure their seller and buyer are returning docs prompty, paying for searches, getting their mortgage application in, booking their survey etc etc. They also liaise with the entire chain (if applicable) to ensure all the other links and okay and running to schedule. In almost all cases, the conveyancing solicitor will only communicate with the links directly above and below them. Furthermore, they generally don't take any interest in how the rest of the chain is doing until they have their own file in order and are almost ready to exchange contracts.

Arguably, some sales will go through absolutely fine with no sales progression because everything just happens to fall into place nicely. The reality is though, only a small percentage transactions go through without some sort of problem and that's when you need a sales progressor to try and fix it. This isn't the conveyancers job.

Terrible business model imo, complete false economy. No incentive for company to sell your property and achieve best price possible.

Saving on a commision and losing a chunk on your sale price will make you worse off overall, not better off. Plus sales progression is handled by a call centre which is a massive flaw. Having a sale fall through and losing money if you've paid out for searches, mortgage valuation/homebuyers survey etc is expensive.

Totally flawed business model.

The words 'US strategic investor' pretty much answer the question IMO. That would mean it's a business operating within the same space. Probably one which is potentially threatened by Avacta's technologies and therefore their investment is a hedge. Alternatively, they may be looking at trying to buy out in the future.

And without pointing out the obvious, it would already have to be succesful in order to have the capital to be able to do so.

I think it's almost certainly going to be a US big pharma.

Sharehunter3, whilst CS was over at NCYT, I was over at ORPH also putting the cat amongst the pidgeons it seems! I actually have a sizeable holding in ORPH and I like the share very much, I wasn't just going over there to cause annoyance. Nobody as yet has managed to responsd to me with any sort of compelling response to my points.

Hi barwickman, you are correct! Certainly not panicked, seems reasonably de-risked now (as much as it can be, without having a product). Also, orginally bought in at 40 so have a very low average, no doubt there's many who have been spiked though. It was a bloodbath last week.

This is my third largest holding at present, out of 11. We should all do well, but I'm not expecting to see any dramatic movement here for the time being. Very confident it will pay off in time, though.

I agree it's probably inconceivable. Firstly, because I'm sure II's taking large holdings would have wanted some assurances. Secondly, raising £40m which is partly/largely for the purpose of bringing the test to market and then immediately failing would destroy the credibility of both the CEO and the company as people would assume they knew it was going south and just wanted to capitalise before they told anybody.

I don't think passengers will be checked both ends. Just at the mouth for the saliva sample.

I don't think the Government have handled much of this particularly well, so what they think doesn't really impact my opinion.

IMO the same principle of 'special treatment' applies with people getting back to work because:
1) The furlough scheme can't last forever
2) 80% of pay for some people is fine, but many live pay cheque to pay cheque won't be able to absorb that hit.

If large number of people want to get back to work because they need the money (and no doubt that's a sizeable % of the population), those people will actively seek to catch covid-19 (possibly seeing it as inevitable anyway, so let's just get on with it) - I don't see how that wouldn't create a massive spike in new cases thus sending us full circle back into lockdown?

Please don't think I've come on here just to cross promote. I deliberately didn't mention Avacta previously because that's exactly how it would be seen. This is just a discussion on anti-body testing, but there's no point hiding from the fact there's likely to be a signifcant change in the landscape very soon (assuming their 10min test actually works and is sensitive/specific enough - current uknown factors of course).

Yes, but I'm talking about people being able to take an instant anti-gen test, without the need for a lab and a delay in getting a result. You've latched onto where I've said 'anti-gen' and ignored the '10 minute' part. The latter is the game changer, not the former. In addition there should soon be the ability to that on mass, globally.

As said, immnunity isn't proven. It may well be in due course, however even if that happens the issue remains with giving people special treatment. If that where to happen, people who believe they're healthy and not at risk will go out trying to catch it in order to get a 'passport'. It would surely create a huge spike? I think that's massive hole in that proposed solution!

The Government are moving towards 'track and trace', which means finding people who have Covid-19 NOW and doing it on a massive scale. At this moment, currently that demand for anti-gen testing cannot be met at the necesarry scale and the results take too long anyway - meaning people are going about their business infected in the meantime. That looks set to change in the coming weeks.

Furthermore, in terms of getting people back to work - surely it's better to have the whole workforce back to work and just keep testing and isolating prompty and as required? Your proprosal would take months or even years?

Anti-body tells you if you've HAD Covid-19

There's no evidence to show that if you've had Covid-19 you have immunity and if you do, to what extent and for how long.

It's really important to understand the difference between the two.

Yes I completely agree. OO is a great investment and I won't be selling any of my shares any time soon! I don't want anybody to think I'm knocking this share. My concern is with anti-body testing generally, not OO as an investment.

It just seems there's a few people who jumped on board here for the anti-body testing. I've seen the cross ramping on other boards too saying 'it's going to fly' and all the usual stuff. OO is a great medium to long term play. Anybody who's jumped in for the hope of a quick profit on the back of testing will be dissapointed IMO.

Anti-body testing is great for statistics and we've seen these tests come through faster than anti-gen because they're easier, making them more common at present.

I think the problem will be that once the public wise up to it, nobody will want an anti-body test. I don't think the Government can give any special treatment, a so called 'passport', even if immunity is proven for the reason stated below. It could cause chaos.

I think we are going to see massive changes in the testing landscape over the next few weeks. Once there is 10 minute anti-gen testing on the market, it will allow mass screening and I think that's going to be the direction this goes and will mark the beginning of the return to normality accross the globe. The appearance of that within the market will no doubt put a serious financial dent in many of the other Covid-19 testing stocks.

Just dropped in for another quick look at what's going on here. I am a massive believer in Open Orphan and CF, but I personally have no interest in this anti-body testing - aside from it being a temporary source of income which will no doubt help the business from that perspective.

We don't know what level of immunity you gain, if any, nor how long any immunity might last. Whether you were signifcantly affected by catching Covid-19 depends on the viral load you were exposed to, in addition to the other factors which everybody should certainly now be aware of.

Furthermore, the problem with the 'Covid passport' idea is that if those people start getting special treatment, we'll have lots of people who go out trying to catch it. We might even see the adult equivilent of chicken pox parties!

If you're exposed to a high viral load (such as if you were to deliberately put yourself in harms way), even if you're healthy the risk is increased that you'll develop more serious symptoms.

No doubt I'll get flamed for this post by many people wo've had shares in this company for much less time that I have. I'm not saying this isn't a great investment - there's a lot on offer here and CF has said before he wants to deliver results for shareholders. I just don't think anti-body testing is the real play here, but that's all anybody seems to be talking about on this board. I think you're all barking up the wrong tree.

It appears we've actually had the big news we've all been waiting for, but it was so subtle that none of us even noticed!

Of course, we still have the questions specicifity and sensitivity, but this is about as nailed on as it can reasonably be now IMO.

As opposed to the Friday sell offs we often see, I wouldn't surprise if we have a rally into the close today. We still don't have the expected news, and the placing may have been the reason why we haven't had it. (To avoid a repeat of what happened over at GDR).

I was sure we would hear something this week, but now it makes sense why we haven't. I'm expecting to see that RNS icon lit up on Monday or Tuesday, as I'm sure many others are too.

I bought more at open, 149. Wouldn't normaly buy at this sort of time in the morning, but I can't see them getting any cheaper than that, ever again!
